You do know the history in KC, then don't you? Te Royals get decent prospects, and young guys -and inevitably let them go -because they flat out refuse to spend the money to field a competitive team - team being the operative word. I don't remember the exact season - but they had 3 guys that had over 100 RBIs in the same year and I think Johnny Damon on the team to boot as lead off hitter - so yes, you can find some guys that will have some great seasons - but the fact of the matter is that they are too cheap to field a team year in and year out.

Which means they are perpetually in a "rebuilding phase" -and the best outlook they can ever really have is to get lucky with about an 85 win season - and then it is cash in time for any free agents at the end of that season -as it is, after all ... Kansas City, not the Yankees of Red Sox...

However the main point is -- it doesn't make a bit of difference if their farm system is stacked, as I'd be willing to place a bet that they piss it all away.

The Royals always seem to play the White Sox tough -- even the odd chance I got to go see them at the new park -I guess they once called it maybe new Comisky Park - but with sponsorships -- I guess last I heard it was Cellular Park or whatever - and I have no idea what it was called when I was there about a year after it opened -or what is sponsoring the team now ... maybe Lemonheads Stadium. :D

:)

In all honesty- I am only talking from the point of view of someone that had to deal with KC for 16 years--- so it is really only from that that I am talking from, even though I think you might have posted some of that stuff -or maybe all of it).

I mean honestly in the 90's in the pre-season their damned call in fans would have the Chiefs not just making the playoffs, but winning the Super Bowl every years... forget the rest of the league or that they didn't do shit the season before ... ok, so you might as what the hell that has to do with baseball or the Royals ... well, the fans are exactly like that in everything.

It is annoying as -well, say some guy bitching constantly about a 4th line winger on the Blackhawks ... and about as deep. Yeah I'm scarred for life by those people. :D

Royals haven't had a winning season since 2003.

83-79 under Tony Pena.

I see haha. I'm just optimistic for the Royals, I just really want to see them do well soon (not ahead of the White Sox of course), as I really like their farm system, especially the depth.
