I look at the Packers draft and free agent history combined his these worthless Bears-tier coaches they hire and its a minor miracle they make it that far. The Ted Thompson years were mostly very good (not perfect, but nobody is) until his mind started to go and you can very starkly see that dropoff. Then Brian Gutekunst took over and its been pretty much a disaster. Its like they have gone out of their way to **** up that team.

And Aaron Rodgers still led that trash to thirteen win seasons three years in a row. Last year the wheels finally came off and all those problems came to roost. I get the impression Rodgers was at least somewhat (and entirely justifiably) demoralized by it. This collapse should've happened years sooner though, like 2018 or so should've been the end. The only viable reason I can find for it is that Aaron Rodgers played transcendant football through most of that time. The division was butt too, but usually bad teams that win bad division don't mount a higher win total than nine or ten. Packers blew past that number.

None of that explains why his production dipped with the temperature the last two seasons.

Father Time is still undefeated.

I don't think those Packers teams were built to compete with good teams. Guys like Kenny Clark, Rashan Gary, Darnell Savage Jr. and even Jaire Alexander (though him to a bit of a lesser extent) are just bumslayers and always have been. Clark particularly. Looks great when he's owning the Bears but then the Niners or Eagles come to town and he's getting bulldozed.

You can't win like that. Especially in winter. If you are getting blown off the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, even with Green Bay's unique leeway when it comes to offensive holding, you can't win. Not with Aaron Roders, not with Tom Brady, not with Peyton Manning. Just don't work.

You can't win scoring ten points at home in a playoff game.

That's not on the defense. Rodgers sucked in that game.

jets can be good but they are in a brutal division...bills and dolphins are stacked...the patriots are an unknown and so the jets are going to have to be sharp right out of the gates to have a playoff chance.

What's dumb is you thinking the Jets have the best shot at winning the SB with an aging QB that chokes in playoffs. Does he make the Jets better? Sure! He def. will make them better. He won't win a SB with the Jets.
Aaron Rodgers doesn’t choke in the playoffs.

I think the guy is as big a ****** nozzle as has ever played in the league but with the exception of one year in which they lost a low scoring game, his playoff performances have been as good or better than his regular season averages. His team has choked in the playoffs but he has not.

So what you're saying is that (at the time) a MVP QB can't MVP his team to the SB?

Edit: Beating the current Rodgers is a pretty simple formula. Take the running game away and he folds.

I doubt the Packers could give a **** about Rodgers anymore besides for his playtime. I hope he fails so packers lose out on a better pick and the media stops talking about that *****.

They care as much as they care about your 4,323,412 mock drafts
Put the salt back in the kitchen dude, I'm sure this weekend will have lots of face punching.

I did like him but didn't as a Jet, I think they (N.Y. & CO.) treated him like dog shit.

I'm going to miss him beating the Bears twice a year? I'm done with his evaluation. I have him #2 all time Packer QB- ahead of Favre and behind Starr. I thought it was time for him to retire. One reason only- he lost a step in the pocket. That's his game- evading pressure until something opens up. He'll probably be in the playoffs this year if they block good for him. Love sucks but if he can beat the Bears they will let him stick around awhile.

Fair enough. Do you think the Packers should cut bait with BackFiahrti and build through trenches?

Aaron Rodgers dragged talentless Packers rosters to routine division championshisp. Now to be fair it was the short bus division, but three thirteen win seasons before this last one is pretty impressive.

This idea that they should be happy with a wild card is really stupid. You don't trade a first and a second for wild card. The Jets are trying to win it all right now, and honestly I don't see anyone better positioned than them to do it aside from the Bengals.

Then you're an idiot. But most already knew that.

It really is a copycat league and the Jets are betting they are '20 Bucs or '21 Rams good, which is just good enough.

When the championship window slams shut the average fan and the sports bettors with no particular team loyalty shrug their shoulders and move on to the next flavor.

It's hard to blame them for trying to buy a Superbowl and keep their seats from getting hot when building a dynasty is nearly impossible in today's league. (Possible exception KC).

Personally I hope they fail but then I'm kind of bitter.

He has declined in recent years.

In addition to the playoff game you mentioned, he also lost at home to Detroit in a win-and-you're-in game. He played poorly in that one, and that's two years in a row he loses a big one at home to finish the season.

I don't see it as 'choking' as much as I do with age catching up with him. When it gets cold, his production dips with the temperature, more so now than when he was younger.

It's not exactly balmy in New Jersey come December & January, and then there are those road trips to New England and Buffalo. I see some bumps in the road ahead.
