Being in the drug program because of weed is stupid. Either way he knew the rules but at some point you would think someone is going to sue the NFL for this shit.

And they won't win. The NFL is your employer. They can make whatever rules they want until it is legalized nationally. Possibly even after that for all I know.

They don't necessarily have a right though to test you over and over again. That is the CBA that allows that not the law and one could certainly try and challenge that on the grounds weed is not performance enhancing and the NFL really has no real right to intrusively test them for it over and over.

Or do you know of another employer outside of sports that is allowed to drug test their employees over and over again. I had to take one drug test upon hiring and that's it.

Then the CBA would have to vote to change the rules, which has nothing to do with suing or the court system, thats all I was saying. The CBA being a part of it of course, in effect the NFL makes its own rules and can rightfully do so. That may happen one day, but it is likely years away as not a lot of people in this current time want to take that step. Don't get me wrong though, I am all for smoking and have nothing against it. On the flip side, you have people like Ommy who label them as junkies. Just my opinion in how it plays out.

It happens all the time. The employer makes the rules as it is their business; they are the ones who have to pay for the drug test. If an employee comes in to work high and injures someone else guess who has to pay for it? The business is a property interest of the owner, if you own a car and allow someone else to use it, do you not have the right to tell that person what they can and cannot do while they are driving it?

I think it is stupid for an employer to constantly bring up drug tests but it is their property, their rules. I don't know how much longer people will have the right to do what they want. I mean just because you are a United States citizen you no longer have the option not to purchase health insurance.

The players had the opportunity to change these scenarios or franchise tag scenarios. They didn't prioritize them or want them fixed hard enough over their fight.

It's the rules they agreed to and wool be until the next CBA.

Some of my buddies have to pee in a cup every time they go out to work, that's like once a month or so.

Military, they do random drug tests at their leisure. I was in for almost 10 years and there were times I went a year or two in between tests. And there were a couple instances that I had had 2-3 in a one month period.

If I am a player, I am sure as hell voting to keep testing.
As a player, I am worried about the fringe players and backups that overindulge saturday night... or even on practice day.... and trip and fall in to my knee and end my season.

With 21 massive guys flying around me at a high velocity, I want every reasonable assurance that they are clear headed and focused.

The healthcare and transportation industries to name two. I work in a hospital and have been randomly tested twice in seven years. When I was younger and employer drug testing was becoming common I railed against it as an infringement on civil rights. But a lot of doctors, nurses, pilots, train engineers etc. used to be wasted at work and that's decreased. I don't want my life in the hands of an impaired person so it's a trade off I can live with. I don't personally give a **** if Josh Gordon smokes weed. Knowing he would be retested and could forfeit millions, though, it leaves me scratching my head.
