Haha alright then. Just saying that the claim that it appeared you were making (NBA players don't make certain difficult plays look easy) didn't really make any sense. Like everyone knows that doing those things is extremely difficult. It's just that at the moment the player does it so well that it looks effortless to them. A random example is that famous switch hands layup that MJ had against the Lakers back in 91 (I think it was then anyway...). Obviously that play was ridiculously difficult, but the way he did it, it looked easy for him. Another example is Dr. J's behind the backboard reverse layup. Clearly off the charts difficulty, but he made it look easy.

Heck even scoring 20 points in basketball is pretty hard. But guys who are scorers in the NBA make scoring look easy.

But yeah anyway, enough on that. I think the point has been made already lol.

understatement....put this into perspective...out of the millions of kids that play high school basketball....only around 400 make it to the NBA(i think it's actually like 350)...and a good bit of those barely play

scoring 20 points in the NBA is incredibly hard lol when you're going against some of the best defenders that play basketball..ridiculous

but we don't consider these things really...we just enjoy the game and watch as players score 20 while making it look like it's no biggie

This has turned into an identical clone of the multiple last summer Pippen argument threads.

I wonder if every summer there is going to be a Pippen debate.

EVERY YEAR WHEN JUNE HITS, THERE WILL BE AN ANNUAL GREAT PIPPEN DEBATE THREAD.

Maybe the mods should dedicate a whole forum in the bar just for Pippen talk.

That already seems to be the trend in the bar. Seperate sections for each subject.

Kind of weird but how in the **** has this turned into a Dwight Howard 3 point shooting showdown? :dunno:...LoL

You guys crack me up somtimes.

lol yeah pretty much hit it on the spot. That makes things like MJ averaging 37 a game or Kobe averaging 35 a game that makes it that much more incredible. And then we sit here and call them selfish ballhogs.

in some respect, you have to just to get the shots required to get those kind of numbers

i think it was a little more ballhoggish of kobe when you consider the pace difference between the early '90s and the mid 2000s..but that's just my bias against kobe coming out

you say it as if it is a fact

WHERE's YOUR RESEARCH!!!

:shifty:

All right Mr. Sassy Pants. :smug:

Dwight Howard is a career 3% 3pt shooter (1-33). He's also a 10% 3pt shooter in the All Star Game (1-10). I'll combine those to the average of 4.5% (2-43).

I happen to be in a summer league right now. I also happen to be in the midst of a very very very bad shooting slump which will make me look pretty bad as well. For the season so far (3 games lol) I am shooting a wonderful 2 for 12 from 3. That's pretty bad, but that results in a 3pt percentage of 16.7%. Last I checked, that's higher than 3%, 4.5%, and 10%.

I am a better 3pt shooter than Dwight Howard. :dealwithit:

Surely one of us can shoot free throws better than he can. Dude is a career 58% free throw shooter. There are random HS players who don't get off the bench who can shoot better than that lol.
