I like Aurelio's. Prefer thin crust. Choose steak sandwiches over Italian beefs. Polish sausage is not good. I have, and will continue to put ketchup on a hotdog if I so choose to.

You mad? Come at me bro.

not mad, just mature and civilized.

Go ahead and enjoy your cheddar cheese and sugar sauce on your thin crust pizza, enjoy comparing two different cuts of meat as well as cooking method for your beef related sandwiches, your encased meat bigotry, and your penchant for homo-eroticism in your frankfurter preparation.

I am not mad at all.

Fair enough.

just messing around.

I did put ketchup on a hot dog the other day and the taste did make me sick to my stomach. It was really weird. I was all "**** it, im eating a hotdog like my 2 year old, she fucking loves this shit" and then I took one bite and gave the rest to my daughter. cool story? cool story.

I'm actually kidding as well, I hate ketchup. I just get tired of hearing people say how you're supposed to eat something, especially when it is a 'Chicago thing.'

I do prefer Aurelio's, only because I don't know of Lou's near me. The best pizza in the Chicagoland area is actually Joe's Italian Villa, on 85th and Harlem.

Quad cities style pizza FTW. Grew up on it and its my fav by far. There's a QC style place in Chicago now. It's called Roots. Haven't had it there, though. I'll just have to assume its as good as Harris, Fields of Pizza, etc here in my town.

Not exactly sure how to explain it. Just a style that a few places here make it. Not deep, but not thin either. Ground sausage that's plentiful under the plentiful cheese. Slightly sweet crust sometimes. If you google it you can find info and pics that give you an idea.

Not really pan style. If you google it you get an idea of the crust style and sausage. Also they cut it in strips instead of triangles.

On my phone so is a pain to link images or I'd hook it up.

i just looked that quad cities shit up on wiki and it sounds pretty good. spicy sauce? cool. ground up fennel-y italian sausage? yes. sliced into "strips?" lol no.

Srsly though, I eat Aurelios all the time it's pretty good, it's just its own thing.

I think the best executed pizza in Chicago besides the Malnati "Pie" is at Gigios, and it's NY style. Has a better thin, chewy, bubbly crust than any pizza I've had in NYC, has Chi-town style italian sausage, decent sauce and decent cheese. Also, it is CHEAP and run by some hard ass Greek guys. I used to manage a bank down the street from them and every once in a while when I'd go in and shoot the shit and buy a slice they'd hook me up with a couple of pies for my staff for free.

Only pizza I've had in Chicago was Giordanos and Malnatis. I like both, but still prefer the hometown stuff.

If you're from the ISU area, or went there hopefully you know about the Lucca Grill. Great pizza down there.

Sounds great, but I just can't do spicy anymore. Which sucks, because I'm 30 and it's not like I don't take care of myself but I have GERD and just can't do it anymore. Some of my favorite shit has that spice in it, and I'll feel miserable quickly after eating it.

Shit sucks.

Nope. The quad cities are a group of towns on the Illinois Iowa border. I have spent a good deal of time in Bloomington -Normal, but the only pizza I've had was cheap shit (Gumbys, maybe). Partied there a lot.

My bad, I'm talking separate from the QC. I put a picture up there, not sure if you can see it on your phone, but is that close to what you are talking about?

I don't think its spicy, really. Even the sausage is pretty mild. That pic you posted would make me salivate, if I weren't sitting next to my smoker smelling my pork butts. (Check grillmaster sticky in the bar).

anyways, while we are on pizza and haven't been merged into some other board, here's a fucked up pizza for you guys:

Good man. This IPA drink is to you. Cheers. (Have to drink at least a little while grilling/smoking)
