He gets them to overachieve in the regular season. The playoffs so far have been a different story. See last year's team. Won 1 game against Washington. The 2012 team won 1 game after Rose went down.

So, no I don't think they've survive very far in the West either. They'd make the playoffs no doubt. Hard to say where they'd end up given seeds 2-6 were so close together this year.

I guess that Thibs must forget how to coach once the play-offs start, huh? What a lame argument. This notion that somehow Thibs somehow coaches differently in a play-off game is funny. Why play, I guess? Oh Gee. The Bulls are missing two or three of their best players from the regular season but we must forget that. Instead, it is obvious.........their coach doesn't remember how to win games. That's it. Why didn't they just quit after the regular season because after all, Thibs just can't coach in the play-offs:(

Where does Scott Brooks go? You know, if he's willing to take an assistant role, we might fix some Thib issues here.

And what issues would those be? Do we have a coaching problem somewhere?

Is there any other team out there that needs a coach though? Have to assume he'd try every head coach position before considering assistant roles. If Thibs listens to him, he could improve a few things here for sure.

Alvin Gentry and Lawrence Frank have done pretty well in assistant roles though since losing their head coach positions.

Exactly WHAT are the things that Brooks could improve on the Bulls? He lost one star and couldn't make the play-offs. Thibs lost the league MVP and made the play-off every year.

I would like to know what value Brooks has?

All the reputable bulls insiders are saying its going to happen. I think it will happen. Probably for the same reasons brooks got fired.

Better if they fire the lame ass Paxson. He's the weak link in the organization. Fire Paxson. Fire Paxson. Promote Thibs to Head Coach/GM. **** Paxson.

Brooks has similar strengths/weaknesses to Thibs, has also won COTY and has actually made the finals once and has had to deal with injuries derailing his seasons...yet there doesn't seem to be any backlash

it makes me wonder if the perception of thibs wasn't as high would people be so against the Bulls letting him go

they like Ollie or thibs? just clarifying since both have been talked about in the thread :)

No way that Durant and Westbrook are going to stay together. Westbrook is not going to play nice in a Durant sandbox anymore.

It might be me, but I am old and need an interpretation of the above statement:)

what im saying if ppl didn't wrongly think of Thibs as some Phil Jackson/Greg Popvich type would they be against letting him go?...if i had to choose i'd take Thibs over Brooks but there is allot of parallels between them

however i don't see anybody defending Brooks even though you could apply allot of the same argument ppl use for Thibs to Brooks

He could probably improve our offensive schemes a little and possibly get through to Thibs to rest players a little more. That's about it, but if those two things improved the Bulls would be a much more dangerous team imo.

Ollie to the Thunder, Thibs to Olrando, Hoiberg to Chicago, Brooks to Cleveland....

Your sarcasm is awful.

No, Thibs teams are usually dead tired from overachieving so much in the regular season by the time the playoffs come around. He doesn't really coach any differently than regular season games and that's kind of been the problem. This year though he's been forced to coach differently. We should see if it changes things in the playoffs.

Every coach coaches differently in the playoffs. Rotations get smaller, minutes are distributed differently.

I wonder what would have happened if they had coughed up the extra $3.5 million for harden. They have Durant who is the MVP and you add Harden and Westbrook two MVP candidates this year. If you need pay the luxury tax for those three guys you do it. After next season only Westbrook will be left. What could have been?

Heck with the new TV deal the cap might have been manageable.

What makes it all that much worse for OKC is that Ibaka didn't really improve that much after that season beyond being able to make a few 3s here and there and Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb didn't really do much for them.

Okay. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I just value Thibs highly as a head coach. As for Brooks, I really don't know much about his coaching since we don't watch a lot of their games. Frankly, the games that I have watched the Thunder play, Westbrook looked like he was the man in charge aned Brooks appeared mostly in the background observing. There is no doubt who is in charge of the Bulls when they are playing.
