I think the other end of it for me is...if I were in the shoes of the families that lost someone in the bombings, I wouldn't want those SOB's alive. I don't think I would care about punishment, knowing that they were alive when my loved one was dead that would drive me crazy.

The first guy got off easy. What he deserved was a televised execution; To be strapped down to a chair and have sulfuric acid slowly IV'd into his veins until he died from a slow, painful, primal screaming, flesh melting from the inside-out death. Executions with a purpose is what I'm talking about. Enough of the legal system nice guy bullshit.
