The current Moose team looks like it will now be for the Winnipeg NHL team. That means Wolves will likely be Canucks affiliates. But the Canucks wanted to move their affiliate closer, so what you happen to Chicago or if a different team would take them and give Vancouver theirs is a mystery.

Pretty sure there would be a lot of people in Chicago that would be pissed off if the Wolves became the Canucks aff

Ya, I don't think the Wolves would agree to it. It would be so bad for their attendance and PR.

The best case scenario would be the Hawks buying their way out of the deal with Rockford, and then signing the Wolves on as the Hawks AHL affiliate. I doubt Rockford would go away easily though, because they are setting attendance records and all. And I think the contract has a long time to go?

Considering the story is basically a rumour, how exactly can a jump be made to where a rumoured relocated NHL team's rumoured minor league affiliate is located?

Just wondering how exactly that works? Or rather -seems like jumping the cannon let alone the gun.

Because the Moose moving to St. John's and signing with the Thrashers (the Winnipeg group of the Thrashers owns the Moose) is going to be announced on Friday.

All right, I missed the part about moving to St John's and thought it was that Winnepeg was going to maybe get an NHL team and keep an AHL team (which seemed like a lot to ask for).

Theres no way I could see that happening. The wolves declined that move a caouple years ago, now that the Hawks are a winning organization it seems Wolves fans want it more and more now

It's "official". Just has to be announced. NHL deciding whether to announce it before or after the Stanley Cup.

Hopefully its officially announced afterward....between the cup finals, then this announcement, then free agency Bettman could have 3 solid weeks of continuous NHL breaking stories...he might wet himself with enjoyment

Ladd hasn't signed an extension yet because he's not thrilled about the possible move.

Who can blame Laddy?

Stan must find a way to get him back.

It'll make up for giving him away in the first place.

Is ATL to Winnipeg done yet? Or still negotiating?

Heard somewhere (can't remember where) that part of the delay had to do with the NHL wanting to get the most amount of money/penalization from the Atlanta ownership.

I heard that the NHL and ASG agreed on the money split and now the NHL is waiting until after the Cup to announce it.
