if he goes on hiatus than its a dick move but whatta gonna do.

They did mention trading him to a team that needs to get to the cap floor.

if he is doing this to get traded, than ask for a trade.

the whole thing is weird

That would actually be the best move that could happen to the Bruins. The last thing they would want is for him to retire.

Just like Nabby and the Isles a couple years back when he came back from the KHL. The Islanders were able to suspend him, no cap hit, and then toll his contract to the next year when he played.

The Bruins would be able to control Thomas for another year if he ever wanted to come back to the NHL.

kinda a messy situation. If he takes a year off, who knows how effective he will be when he comes back since he is 90 years old.

True but apparently Hasek is attempting a comeback to the NHL at the age of 47, so that might be interesting.

that would actually be quite an interesting story if he comesback, makes a team and actually plays. to be in that kind of shape at 47 is awesome

Who knows what will happen, but a lot of people forget that he did play in the KHL at the age of 45 I believe.

He posted on facebook about the economy and that's why hockey isn't important anymore. Something like that.

I wouldn't blame him for leaving the game. He has a passion for something and he should go for it.

Not sure why Hawks fans have their panties in a wad over the Bruins problems

His dismissal of the invitation to the White House may have something to do with it? That will always rub people the wrong way.

I thought that it was very "American" of him.

One of Tim Thomas' favorite TV personalities is Glenn Beck. If that's not enough of a reason to hate him, I don't know what is.

I had no problem with Thomas on the ice. In fact, I loved the guy, because he kept the Canucks from winning the Cup.

Once he started making his political opinions known, that's when I started to dislike him.

Questioning the president being viewed as "unamerican" is not a new thing.

Don't like the president's politics? Don't go when invited.

Sounds like our Forefathers - Don't like paying absurd taxes? Don't pay them.

It doesn't get any more "American" than that.
