Which LA team has the better overall roster: Lakers or Clippers?

Great question. If the lakers are done with moves, I think this could be the Clippers year.

Dunno...only pre-season games going on. Let's talk about these two when Feb/March hits. Then we'll know who is better.

Way too early to tell & way too early to care.

It's a little early to tell but if no more moves are made it's going to be the Clippers

It'll be a hard pill to swallow, but the Lakers are no longer the best team in the Staples Center. Losing Odom is going to be huge, especially considering that they got nothing in return (outside of a crummy draft pick and a trade exception). The combination of DeAndre Jordan, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin is going to be exciting to watch. I fully expect them to be the four or five seed in the Western Conference.

Better rebounding team: Toss-up with a slight edge to the Lakers maybe.

Better defensive team: Toss-up with a slight edge to the Lakers maybe.

Better offensive team: Clippers and fairly easily.

Better coached team: Fairly close, but I'd say the Lakers.

If you mean more coachable, then yes the Lakers, but if this is referring to the actual coach....

Well, now that Brown is there head coach there is no real coaching edge between the two of them. Brown is almost as overrated as D'Antoni is. Del Negro is ok....but no Phil, no coaching edge. :smoke:

As of right now, I still feel as though the Lake Show are better. But I'm not sure that they are hands down better. Last night was brutal, but I'm going to assume that was rust. But they were down 20-25 points. But I'm not willing to say they are done, or inferior to the clippers just yet.

Until the Lakers show me other wise, I'll still pick them as the better team.

Kobe showed signs of slowing down in the post-season, but after a long off-season and a lot of time to rest, I think he'll be in for another big year, barring injury.

When Bynum is healthy, he has proven himself to be on of the top C's in the league and Gasol is one of the top PF's in the league.

I wouldn't say the Lakers by a lot, but I'll go with them for now

only one game but the Clippers look impressive and look like they are going to be VERY FUN TO WATCH

one thing about Chris Paul, he makes players around him BETTER, so DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin will benefit from having Paul at PG THE MOST

I still think the Lakers will be better once they get comfortable with Mike Brown, but no question the Clippers are a much better team and could/should be a threat out West

If you're going off the preseason game, you have to bare in mind that the Lakers were experimenting for the whole game, they did not play normal basketball. That's why you saw limited Kobe, a heavy dose of Blake, a lot of setting up ect. They took advantage of the exhibition to do what most teams should, try and fix what can be fixed with the team, and condition what already works. I was impressed with Mike Brown last night, I never thought I would say it, but he is a lot better of a strategy man that I previously gave him credit for. And most importantly, he didn't show his cards in a preseason game, Vinny did. Vinny was over-anxious to see how good his team could be. Instead of using this time to develop weaknesses, he went straight to his guns. Maybe with the addition of Paul, that wasn't a bad idea, but he's giving other coaches a lot of video to counter them in the future.

Lakers will be better. They still have Kobe and Gasol who to me are better than anybody on the Clippers. Clippers will be fun to watch, but that's about it to me.
