Tough question to answer because everybody has their own point of view.

Here's my short-list:

Rajon Rondo,
Monta Ellis,
DeAndre Jordan,
John Wall,
Norris Cole,
Carmelo Anthony (by dumb Knicks fans mostly),
Joakim Noah (by dumb Bulls fans and on ESPN's list),
Kevin Love (not much better of a defender than Boozer and lacks a refined post-game),
Ricky Rubio (still raw)

Wow...this list is...overrated! Norris Cole? Kevin Love? Ricky Rubio??? C'mon son!

Lol...had to say that.

Well its no longer Ben Gordon...or Kirk Hinrich...I am going to say...

Amare...because he never lived up to the hype of 2005 when he was laying the smack down on Tim Duncan. I thought he was going to be a powerhouse and take it to another level. While he is a very good player, he is not as high on my list as he is on some others...

Derrick Rose is more overrated (by most fans) than LeBron James. Sure, there are some idiots who think LeBron James is the best player ever but I know more people who believe Rose is the best player right now.

Again, all of this depends upon our own view of people talking about various players. There's no denying that all of these players have tremendous ability but some people overvalue what they do.

Norris Cole?
I have seen almost every Heat fan imaginable say this guy is rookie of the year and some of them I have heard call him the next Derrick Rose. That's why he is overrated to me... because of those lots of idiots.

Kevin Love?

I've heard a lot of people put him in their top 10 lists of current players. He doesn't have a superstar game to me. He seems more like one of the best role-players you could imagine but there is no way this guy could lead a team to a championship.

Ricky Rubio???

This guy is the current white boy sensation (taking Steve Nash's old role). He was in the top 5-ish of all point guards of "#1 votes" on that ESPN thing where it allows fans to rank the top 15 PG's.

Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin and I hate to say it but D-Rose. Chicago fans treat him like he's God, but in reality he still has a lot to improve on. I still love him though.

I guess it depends on how you rate "overrated." Do you take a player's contract into consideration? If so, I definitely think Joe Johnson belongs on the list, as he's one of the five highest players in the NBA and might only be the third best player on his team that hits the wall in the playoffs every year.

I'm surprised Rajon Rondo is getting so much hate. He's definitely shown improvement this year, shooting 51% from the floor while averaging 15 points and nearly 10 assists and 2 steals a game. He's also a great rebounder for a point guard and has generally played in the postseason. I'm not saying he's a superstar, but there aren't too many other floor generals I'd rather have running the floor for my team. He's a good decision maker. Yeah, he can't create his shot like Westbrook or Rose, but that's not what he's asked to do in Boston. Maybe after the Big Three get broken up, his shooting touch will develop if he's asked to take a more prominent role in the offense, but right now, that's not what he's asked to do. Jason Kidd was never a big scorer, but I don't think that made us think any less of him.

Either way.... off that tangent. My short list of "overrated" players includes Joe Johnson, our very own Carlos Boozer, the duo of Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook and Chris Bosh.
