I thought Joey Votto was leading the league in WAR.

National League Leaderboards

I think the top guys are close enough that the "good player on a losing team" metric is going to take hold so the most likely recipient will either be Upton or Braun.

He is and I was going to list him, but the odds of him winning on a team that's not in the division race are slim IMO.

I'm gonna say Upton, although it definitely should be Votto. Probably the best 1B in the game right now.

Our division is stacked with great and ex-great 1B.

Pena (used to be up there)
Votto
Not even mentioning whoever is playing for Houston right now
Fielder
Lee (used to be up there)
Pujols.

Might as well be the NL 1st Base Division once/if Houston moved to the AL West.
