Many representatives are expressing their outrage that U S Olympic Athletes will be appearing in uniforms that were manufactured in China. Some even want to see them all burned.

I think the U S Olympic Committee used extremely poor judgment in making this decision. Made in USA used to stand for something.

These stories seem to be very common now days. I think those made in the USA patches are made in Mexico. They will definitely have made in the US clothes now. The public outrage will push them to now.

"I think they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said when asked by ABC News today, "If they have to wear nothing but a symbol that says USA on it, painted by hand, that is what they should wear."

Harry Reid just wants to see naked athletes.

Whereas he wants to see the naked men, I wouldn't mind seeing some of our naked female athletes.

This is something that would bother me as well. You are representing your country in the Olympics. The least they could do is get some fucking uniforms made in your country... The bottom dollar is all that matters anymore.

We have service men dying over sea's for a war that should never have been fought...

We have gang violence in Chicago where innocent kids sitting on there porches are getting killed...

We have researchers who lack funding to try and find a cure for Aids, Cancer, etc...

Women and children getting physically/sexually assaulted/abused...

We have an awful educational system that is getting worse and worse...

Yet people want to focus on the USA Olympic team wearing uniforms that were made in China? I'm gonna bet that all of those bitching currently have ONE item that was not made in America on their body. Good chance the car they drive isn't one either. The technology they are using to voice their opinions about this? Probably from Japan or China as well.

As you can see, this really isn't a big deal. I understand the point the media is trying to make, but it's unnecessary.

Now this I can get outraged about. In England you should be eating chips made of real potatoes out of newspaper! Not whatever those McD's things are made of.

Oh yeah. I saw that. I guess that's one tiny bone thrown their way.

Also, the London McDonald's have these new Mad Men inspired uniforms. I'm sure the employees love slinging burgers now that they're wearing these gems. Weird!

Those uniforms make me not want to eat. The chick is wearing a puke green shirt. Excellent

I just want to know who was bitching when they has been made in Canadia, Mexico, Japan and several Central American nations in the past. Oh right, China is the new "enemy", and it is an election year, so it is now wrong.

Much ado about nothing for me since the uniforms are outsourced to Ralph Lauren, a business. Also, I would like those politicians bitching about this to let me know which Americans would be willing to work for the same wages as those that made the uniforms...that are not children.

Show me a company manufacturing in the US that can do it better then and for a reasonably similar price. Don't just ***** about it. I bet China probably makes 75% of all the uniforms in the olympics this year. it's what they do, make clothing cheap.

Who cares, it's a global economy now and the US is shifting away from manufacturing, you can't expect everything to still be manufactured by them. Just win.

I am as rah-rah go USA as anyone else, but this is just stupid chest pounding. When was the last time Nike, Addias, Puma, or Reebok shoes and clothing made in the US? All make a ton of uni-s and equipment that has been used by the US in the Olympics since forever. That darn Michael Jordan should have burned his uniform and equipment and played nude on that Dream Team based on this dummy politicians.

Goes deeper than that also. Can't tell me a lot of these Olympians aren't getting donations and funding from companies outside of the US to get to London and compete and you can't tell me all their training facilities and equipment they use to train in and around are all American made and American funded and sponsored either.

The Olympics are a great way of trying to wave the flags and spew patriotic nonsense. These atheletes at the end of the day really don't care about the country they are representing...they are there to challenge themselves and to try and enhance their own egos...which I have no problems with. That's what sport has always been about at its roots esp the Olympic games. People like Jesse Owens and those political situations are far and few between. Great stories that people like to hang their hats on feel pride in as if they themselves actually had something to do with it.

Who remembers the controversy over US Army black berets being made in China? I do! I was part of the first group that had to wear them.

So I would love it if the US could get millions of manufacturing jobs back from China, but I am MORE concerned about how fucking stupid and ugly those uniforms look. They look like a bunch of French models. Ralph Lauren can suck my ass, cause that shit is ***!
