I recall there being some folks saying "wtf", but it wasn't like this deal, as Canada is like America Jr. We also aren't in debt to Canada to the tune of trillions, there's no threat from Canada to attack the U.S., and there aren't human rights violations up the ying yang in Canada.
Where is the furor over the uniforms that the US athletes wear while competing. I think you would have to go back to the 60’s or earlier to find a time when the entire uniform and piece of equipment of every US athlete in the Olympics was made in the US. How long has Nike, Reebok, Adidas, and Puma been having Uni’s and shoes made in China…and to further that, the rest of the equipment they use. I think one would notice this goes further back than when outsourcing became a largely used social term.
My problem with this call out now is that it is purely a political chest thumping thing. Apparently was never that big of a problem in the past.
And to be clear I would prefer that many of these things are made here, but there is such a complex reason as to why they are not...and it is not always about money though that is a primary factor.
