What has Attaochu done that makes him the guy you prefer?

I just like his name.

Seriously though, I'm not disappointed with the Lynch signing and it does make a ton of sense because of Fangio. I just think Attaochu is a bit more explosive and perhaps has higher upside. Maybe not, though.

Either way, the Bears still need to heavily address the position. I think they need another Houston type signing and then I would like to see a pass rusher early. I would be fine with Landry at #8. Or Edmunds. The Bears need linebacker help inside and outside.

I definitely like this move, and he's definitely a Vic guy. He's great OLB depth right away, and who knows if Vic can light a fire under him. Pace is filling all the holes, as usual, and putting himself in a position to do his thing in the draft and go BPA.

I'm actually surprised by this signing because of the suspension and all this other stuff being said about A.Lynch. I kept putting him in my lists of OLB's to sign but really didn't think he'd be the one we sign. There's a couple i would of rather had but sure the hell hope this works out for us cause we are not looking good at OLB at all. I love Floyd but the injuries and concussions, S.Acho is a #4 IMO and A.Lynch had back to back seasons with 6 and 6.5 sacks but i want more then 6 sacks from whoever will be playing a good amount of downs at OLB. If he's our #3 then i'll be much happier about this signing even though there's still concerns with this guy and i'm still hoping we go OLB in the 1st round.

Why would that take him out of contention? Lynch will line up at OLB and/or 4-3 DE. Or are you suggesting a 347lb rookie was going to line up outside?

a 347 rush specialist who cannot be blocked by RBs or TEs. Pace is a genius.

Clearly I was not suggesting that. I forgot the 49ers switched schemes to a 4-3 last year where lynch played DE. My bad.

The guy has the talent to be a starting OLB in the NFL, but he has always been a little weird all the way back to the ND transfer days.

But the Bears are desperate and they know him and we need Fangio to get him back on track. But he is 25 and the upside could be huge and it is worth the risk.

Great pickup. The Bears’ Free Agency keeps getting better and better.

This is my thought exactly. With someone who has talent but motor and weight issues there is nothing like a Big fiture pay day to kick a player in the ass.

Looking forward to the draft to see who we use to complement what we got.

Didn't the 9ers make him gain a bunch of weight to play DE? Maybe he can drop down to his natural weight and regain some of the old spring in his step.

I’m pretty sure Lynch will not be competing for snaps with Akiem Hicks and Jonathan Bullard, he’ll be a stand up OLB.

By draft day, Pace will have every position with starters so as to not play his hand in the draft other than maybe G. I don't think I've ever seen a team trade up into the top 7 for a G. There has not been a player projecting to G selected in the top 15 for 2 decades. There are some that turned into G ar overprojected to Ts but were not drafted as Gs. Guys like Mike Iupati and Steve Hutchinson which were considered decade type talents at the position were drafted 17. I think Nelson may be better than them but 8 is still high for a G. Wouldn't hate it but would prefer that a position of greater impact fall to us or that we acquire some draft capital and take him a few picks later.

He will and Fangio likes BIG OLBs anyway.

huge upside, what 6 sacks maybe? He's a platoon OLB with Acho unless a miracle happens.

I think this is an awful lot for a guy that has not produced in two years. 6 million for a guy the played in half the games the last two years with 2.5 sacks......

I think that is way too much.....
