I agree with Spunky in that the Packers are very solid at LT and C for sure. Bakhtiari is a very good LT and Linsley is a very good C. Bulaga is good when healthy but he could be vulnerable in week 1 just like Long will be.

I'm as concerned about our Oline against the Packers front 7. With the addition of Wilkerson to go with Clark, Daniels, and Matthews, they will generate pressure. Pettine is going to dial it up against our suspect line and near-rookie QB. I doubt Pettine gives Trubisky the same luxury that Fangio gave Hundley last year. I don't think this is going to be the easy game some are eluding to. I still expect GB to put up over 24 on our D. The majority of our OL group is not in football shape yet and Floyd will be playing with a cast. I sure hope our O can score more than 24. Here's praying for a shutout.

The Bears OL is healthy and in shape including Long. Even with Wilkerson they’ll still have to blitz to get pressure

I don't want Rodgers to be hurt, I just want him running for his life, getting sacked hard, throwing interceptions and being so out of breath that he loses control of his bodily functions and poops his pants. I ask for this only twice a year.

I ask for it 16 times.

Hoping Trevathan and Roquan take away those quick slants across the middle. That *** has killed us with that for a decade.

Eventually yes, but I doubt they do it this game.
You may even see a “46” where Mack and Floyd are on the same side in some games. Imagine Mack, Floyd and Hicks all coming on one side!

Based on what?? The rest seems valid but why slip that made-up statement in there?

Note that GBs defense was weak last year (yeah, yeah, they added 2 rookie DBs).

Scores last year vs. GB (despite ALL the crap that went on w/ Fox, injuries, etc)
10-24 (after the bye)

Are you guys seriously scared of Wilkerson? Check his stats he’s had maybe 1 good year since 2013. He doesn’t scare me at all. Amos / Quan should be able to lock down Jimmy’s old ass too. Clark, Daniels, and Perry are the ones to worry about on their front 7

Packers' OL is the best at holding without getting caught. This game is also in Lambeau. I give the Bears about a 5 % chance of winning right now. Just too many new faces and moving parts on offense for me to have any confidence just yet. I'm gonna say Trubisky with 3 turnovers unfortunately. Mack is a great add, but he will have had one week of practice and no training camp. He likely doesn't get comfortable for a few weeks still.

I meant LB and not OL when referring to football shape. Typo on my part.

I expect Pettine to dial it up against Trubisky.

As noted above, I meant the LB group. Smith and Mack have not practiced or played in any games and Smith's hammy is a concern. Trevathon was injured too and didn't get many reps. Add to that Floyd has a broken hand.

They added Wilkerson and I can see him upping his game now that he's playing for a contender. It happened with Woodson and Peppers for them and can happen again.

I thanked that for "Packers' OL is the best at holding without getting caught."

Not 3 turnovers, which sadly I could see happening considering all the new pieces and lack of preseason play for them. I really hope that coaches saw something in practice that negates the need for game experience.

I think that people are sleeping on something a bit.
Mack is going to be over the LT. They’re not going to switch Floyd around now, he knows the defense and Mack doesn’t. They can line Mack up over LT and just tell him to go get whoever has the ball. Mack has played on both sides so it’s not a stretch.
It doesn’t matter how good the Packers left side is, they will have to leave a back in or put the TE on Mack’s side because there isn’t a OT who can handle him by himself.
Hicks and Floyd will end up single blocked and have a field day, Goldman and Bullard/Harris will get single blocked and will play well too.

I don’t see the packers scoring more than 18 points tbh. I don’t know if our O can do any better tho. I think the red zone defense is going to be stingy this year.

I think a better question would be how many of these guys are going to be playing Week 15 when Green Bay comes into Chicago.

The line probably will hold up as well as can be in game one but that group is going to take a beating over the winter. Rebuilt knees don't like Wisconsin in December.

It is not like the Packers doubled Floyd a ton last year. There are 5 OL and Fangio typically only rushes 4 or 5 guys hence why Floyd was in coverage a decent amount last year. So if they rush 4 then Floyd will be in coverage and they will just double Mack. If they rush 5, they will likely use a TE or RB to chip Mack before releasing.

The only guy that consistently dominates one on ones assuming Mack is doubled is Hicks. Floyd does not. So the question is whether Floyd can take advantage in a way he hasn't really done in the past.
