If this were 2015, I would say the Mustang GT Premium was the way to go, but 2016, that changes in nearly all categories. The 2016 Camaro SS is something special. Don't just picture which looks better in your driveway. Drive all of them and see how you like them. The bean counters at Fiat have been upping the ponies on their vehicles without really improving reliability. It's a damn shame how many new Challengers become money pits. Not that owning any of the 3 are really impressive with reliability, but no use adding insult to injury IMO.

The Camaro is fugly in the front....one of the reasons I am buying this is partly due to looks. I will try out the Camaro SS though and see how it goes....

I agree, it's malformed. Like they tried to evolve the last generation and would up with some kind of identity crisis. But the driving experience is fantastic. I wouldn't say so if I hadn't driven all of the mentioned vehicles myself.

Very true but mine will never do any work. I have a F350 and E350 for work. The F150 is my fun truck.

Is it windowless with "free candy and backrubs" painted on the side?

I feel like I wasted away my 2-door years because I have always had 4 door cars and unfortunately they never made a 2 door Charger for insurance purposes. Problem is that I am 32 now and the allure of 2 door cars has mostly passed me by.

The Charger is a fantastic option for a 4 door daily driver if you are looking for a fun ride.
Unfortunately, I think the interiors are shit. Mine has held up beautifully, but I have no kids. Just by the feel of it, it feels like virtually everything would snap if not handled with care.

Sorry, still think it still should be called a skyline even though both are Nissans.

You are right though, they are pricey.

You could get into a good used Porsche for fifty or sixty. Of course if you are going American there are plenty of big engined choices on the market.

So with a blank check, why not look at a classic vintage?

If I had the money to play around with, I would mod. Classic sheet metal on an entirely modern chassis with all the modern fixins.

I asked my kid what kind of car he would want.
He didn't hesitate, 69, 427 stingray.
I said ya... me too... good luck with that.

Admired the choice though... Thought sure he'd say civic with big muffler.

I drive a CTSV with a GM LSA... strong motor.
But I'll hand it to the civic guys... those kids will let it fly every time one pulls up next to me.
Sounds like a busted chain saw, I just smile and let them go.
You know their thinking I just smoked that old man in the Caddy!

Honestly, Tuners dont bother me that much- It is the revving asshats that really need to be put in their place. I cant resist it at times.

... I know what it feels like on the other side of the coin though. Used to have a 2000 Camaro supersport. I pulled up to a light headed in to a merge at about 10 PM, sitting right next to a charger srt. Had no idea what kind of power they had.
I floored it, he kept pace with me through first and second gear... honked, waved, floored it, and left me in his dust. What a dismal feeling.

I just let them go most of the time... ain't worth the gas or trouble.
These kids love their car and put the work in, I can respect that.

Sport cars are getting strong now. The challenger is no joke and a scat pack is real close to me.
A hellcat will simply run away once traction is full on... as well it should.
It's really as much drive train now as motor.
A new camero SS is only 440 horse but the 8 speed tranny and gears have it under 4 to 60 and a low 12 on stock rubber.
That's naturally aspirated... Slap a tune and forced air... full rediculous.
Great time for cars if that's your thing.
It's nice to have a 4K pound luxury sedan that handles like a race car.
Yet you can set the cruise, tune the Bose and enjoy the leather on the highway.
Mileage sucks... but everything has a downside I guess.

It is a great time- I remember being happy in the early 90's that the base LT1 for corvettes hit 300 HP after a 20 year drought. Now 300 horses are a joke.

I was a die hard gearhead as a kid, and the landscape was bare as far as new cars were concerned. If you couldnt get your hands on a pre-73 car, you had to put a crap ton of work in to get performance. (except for the mustangs... Hated them with a passion but admired the power and the sound).

Good point on the 440... That's like a 69 Yenko.
Was referring to super car comparison.
I remember seeing a 1990 ZR1 with 400 HP thinking no way!
It is truly the second muscle era.
