If Parise is a pipe dream then Suter is too, though I don't see us pursuing Parise. But we would be just as capable of getting Parise as we would be to get Suter if we took that route.

there is a much better chance of suter than parise as it looks like the hawks if they make splashes will go the defense route since they know they do not have a premier goalie.

Yes, but if the Hawks wanted to look for offense instead we could, it is only a pipe dream because of where we need improvement, not because the money or the willingness to play here doesn't work.

Only real concern I have with adding Parise is that makes the Hawks awfully top-heavy.

I think I'd like to see them address the defense issue FIRST, then go after a guy like Parise or others. I realize, with the cap situation very much in doubt, that acquiring both players may not be a financially feasible option. But if they could find a way to swing both deals ...
