Kobe absolutely DOMINATED Jordan! I know you guys don't like me saying this but at this point in their career Kobe is better than Jordan was!

why wouldn't i be? i used to hate on kobe but take a look - he's GOING to win his 6th this year and quite possibly, his 7th or 8th in the next few years. when he's done he will have surpassed jordan once and for all as the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball. although in my eyes he already has.

kobe got his first 3 rings faster than jordan, he shoots better than jordan, he's more explosive at this stage of his career, he's going to finish with more career points than jordan and when he's done he will have won more titles, being second only to bill russell.

wow. just wow!

Are you serious??

Well if you look at shoot%, FG %, true shooting percentage i can see what oyu're taling about. Plus the career 33% 3 pt shooting percantage(jordon could never have a 33% 3pt shooting average not ever if he tried.), the fact that kobe was clearly the best player on his team last year in the finals, the way kobe dominated that bostin series after perkins went out(lowest scoring wins on turrible shooting percentage) , and How much better kobe was than shaq, I totally see your point. kobe is WAY better.

i can't believe people actually entertain this idea. the only guy who ever had a shot at jordan's legacy is busy partying it up. i'll give you this, kobe has as much heart as jordan. he just doesn't have the talent.

Ok...check this out.

Jordan played in a time where the NBA was more physical. Kobe wouldnt have lasted a second in that era. Jordan - rookie of the year, Kobe - no. Jordan - 5 time NBA MVP. Kobe - 1. How many times did Jordan lose in the finals - 0, Kobe twice. Jordan won six NBA rings without a dominant Hall of Fame center. Jordan played with the flu and dropped 38. Plus, from what ive read about that game he he stopped sweating, thats how sick he was. Can Kobe do that, hell no. Jordan - Defensive Player of the year. Kobe - 0. 6 time NBA FINALS MVP. Kobe 2. Also, when he won DMVP, he also won the the League MVP THE SAME YEAR. Kobe, never did.

YEAH BUT!!!

"kobe has proven that he's in the conversation. Even though everyone whose ever thought about it, knows that jordan is clearly the better player. He's still in the conversation. "

Does anyone know what the **** that means? i hear people say that all the time. I have no clue what it means, but i always hear. Does it make sense in any other subject to say this crap?

For example, that girl wants nothing to do with you, but you're still in the conversation with the other guys she likes.

There is absolutely no chance in hell it's going to rain tomorrow, but there's s still the possibility of rain in the conversation.

One part of the statement negates the possibility of the other one. If jordan is better, kobe is not in the conversation. There is no debate! jordan is better, so there is conversation

hou, you're an alright guy, BUT, i'm anticipating you saying kobe is in the conversation. Then i point out that it's a strange conversation if we all that jordan is the best damn player ever.

Answer this question: What can Jordan do that Kobe couldn't?

I agree that he is the best ever because I have seen them both play. You agree because you are a homer, big difference.

I think you are an alright guy too, just basketball Special person. That said, why is it confusing to say a player is close but not quite good enough? Norm Van Lier said Oscar Robertson was the greatest ever, former Chicago Sun-Times beat writer Lacy Banks said its Kareem. All I said is that Kobe plays like Jordan, exactly like Jordan. I said mentally Jordan was superior to Kobe, but athletically and fundamentally Kobe is very close and can do some things better than Jordan. That confuses you????

alright i get that. close but not good enough i understand. i think i misunderstood you.
I was a philosophy major, so i guess i tend to harp on the little things.

I do often hear this agrument. It's often mystical. I'm befuddled by it. sorry for attributing it to you.

BTW i grew up a knicks fan. I'm from queens New york. I hated jordan. I always rooted for the team playing against the bulls, for the same reason everyone roots for the team playing miami. For a long time, i hated jordan. I didn't start liking the bulls till the deng, gordon, hinrich days.

Jordan>>>>>>>>>Bryant.

And lol at using that Wizards-Lakers games as reference. Jordan's teammates were absolute garbage in that game, and he had to carry that team against the stacked Lakers surrounding Bryant.

Jordan won 6 titles as the guy.

Bryant has won 2 as the guy.

Bryant isn't even a top 5 player of all-time. Jordan is.

This coming from a guy who has Grant Hill and Luol Deng as starters for the All-Star game.

And Dwyane Wade as well, whose playing the worst ball of his life.

Name me 2 guards in the East better than Wade?

Exactly.

I voted for Grant Hill because I know he has no chance. I want Durant to get the most votes as a starter. Simple as that.

I voted for Deng for the same reason. I want KG to be the starter; not Bosh.

What's your excuse for putting Bryant in the same breath as Jordan?

What could Jordan do on the basketball court that Kobe can't do? If Jordan is soooooooooooooooooooooo much better than Kobe, name what Jordan could do so much better than Kobe.

michael jordan has 5 MVPs
kobe has 1

jordan's career ppg is 30.1(not counting wizards stint its more like 32)
kobe's is 25.3

jordan has 6 rings, two three peats taking a baseball hiatus in between...if he hadnt i'd honestly think jordan would have 7 or 8 rings
kobe has 5(may change)

jordan has a higher PER

jordan's FG% is consistently much higher, jordan always was the better slasher not so much the better shooter...kobe has a better outside touch

jordan was a better rebounder(not that really means much)

jordan has his countless legendary moments(the flu game, the shot, etc.)

jordan played in era with the likes of hakeem, shaq in his prime, barkley, magic johnson, and many other greats and in also a much more physical era

Kobe is a good defender dont get me wrong, but Jordan was on another level defensively, guy was one of the best guard defenders ever

tbh, the player that closest resembles jordan to me is not kobe, although some of the bases of their game are very similar, but actually dwyane wade because of their scoring approach as prime attackers rather than falling more towards the outside shot.

The better question is (besides 3-point shooting) what did Kobe do that Jordan did not do much better

?

kobe is a career 33% shooter. Is that really shooting better? the seasons that jordan tried to shoot from outside, he did it better than kobe.
