People are getting stupid when it comes to Gasol

Rose is a terrible defender? That's news to me.

I don't think he is. I have seen/heard people say it. The people who believe it know who they are. I think he is an above average defender. I think Gasol is an average defender at C. There are so few centers who can rebound, move their feet, and protect the paint. Gasol can do 2 out of 3 above average and he is a smart defender who plays much better positioning than a lot of quicker guys.

I value contesting shots without fouling a bit.

I agree with both of your comments about Rose and Gasol. There is a value of having a big 7 foot player on defense just because of his size to take up room between the opponent and the basket. His problem is with the pick and roll because he has slow feet but that is made up for by his shot blocking and bothering ability.
