Big difference in price..If a loaded Suburban is 85K, I don't even want to look at the sticker on an Escalade
I went to a local car show on Saturday and they had one there that was 92k. It was the shorter wheel base and I didn't pay attention to the options so I'd imagine the ESV with every option would be closer to 100k.

Is this an OCD thing?

It takes longer to back into a parking spot than backing out.

Not if you can drive.

I virtually always back into any spot. I prefer to be able to just drive away and leave without being concerned about some idiot rear ending me while I back out. If you do the backing while you're parking, you have the visibility and knowledge of who is there. It makes more sense to back in rather than back out if you have more confidence in your own driving ability than you do in others'.

Executive parking spot?

I rarely ever back in. Now at work I pull through since I arrive early enough, and at my apartments there's no way I can back my car into the spot without taking some other vehicle out--the spots too small and I don't have the room to manoeuver. Other than that it usually doesn't bug me when people back in--except in one special case.

The only time I got really irked with people backing in was a special group of cretins which I ran into when I lived in the Seattle area. I took the train to work every day, and there's aways the balance of trying to arrive early enough but not waste too much of your life standing around for the train when your BCC (Blood Caffeine Content) is dangerously low. Anyhow, the cretins in question are those people with inferiority complexes who owened SUV's without any legitimate need for one--the people that are compensating for something who don't have the requisite vision, motor skills, reflexes, or IQ to drive a large vehicle. They would always try to back in, poorly and needing multiple attemps, and effectively block off the parking garage and in a couple of cases would make people have to sprint to catch the train. My logic was that you need to be on time for work, but your source of income won't be compromised if you're late coming home, so I'd pull head-in and then just wait for a good break to back out when going home.

So, my thoughts are this--if you want to back in, fine, but if you need multiple corrections to fit into the spot while attempting to back in, you need to learn to drive your vehicle.

Some cars have a better reverse turn clearance than going forward. For those cars, it just saves them from fixing their parking job. Another reason someone may logically back in.

I know when I had my muscle car phase, especially the big ass boat muscle cars, like my 71 challenger and 72 roadrunner. Both of those backed in easier than pulling in.

And that's perfectly fine. If you can back in quickly there's no issue. But, if you take 5+ different forward/backward/forward/backward to get your ass into a parking spot and you're blocking the entire garage, pull your ass nose in or take the bus untill you learn to manoeuver your vehicle.

I liken backing into a parking spot right up there with the need to speed past someone to change lanes...or even pass on the right hand side to immediate cross 2 (or more lanes) to get into the left turn lane with like 300 ft to the intersection. All nonsensical.

Thats like when someone is backing up, and they have no sense of how close they are to whatever is behind them... So they stop backing up 50 ft before even getting close to it..Then struggle turning the wheel to pull forward. This may repeat itself 2-3 times before they can pull out of whatever mess they got themselves into..

That's a pretty horrible video, obviously she can't drive worth a ****. All she got was a 150$ citation ticket for this mess that was caught on camera.

A few weeks ago, I witnessed a late teen maybe early 20's woman doing something similar at the mall with a Ford150. It was painful to watch and I really wanted ask her if she needed help parking that truck. But the bigger question is how the **** did you get a drivers licence??

I like backing in to parking spaces mostly at the grocery store and the gym. Dumb fucks fly around those parking lots even in snow. Backing out, even in my Jeep, I often cant see whats coming. I have almost been hit by people doing 30+ in a parking lot. pulling out forward lets me see what is coming....so I can honk and flip them off.

For get all that nonsense, I always find two parking spots together so I can park sideways so no one scratches up my whip.

Anyone who goes to church backs in.

Lol. I backed in my parking spot when I went to church this past weekend. The reason being is that I parked in a spot that's right in the middle of foot traffic, so if I had not backed in, then I would be forced to turn my head around and watch for pedestrians when church was over. Much easier to back in under those circumstances.

I can understand when people with big trucks do that. But I hate the ******* who take up 2 spots just so no other cars can get near their precious little car.

Considering that my current ride is almost unnaturally a magnet for dings and whatnot (1500 miles in and he caught a rock requiring a windsheild replacement), I've given serious thought to reinforcing the doors and whatnot so if some asshole does park close I won't worry about my door damage if i swing it a bit hard when attempting to can-opener my fat ass into my vehicle. I've basically given up and determend that she does control her own destiny and if she wants to be ratted out, that's fine.

Plus, if you're serious about keeping your car pristine, you'd just park way in the back of the lot where no one parks and walk.

You would be flat out surprised how many times I have parked way the **** away from everyone else only to have some assholes come over and park right next to me.

There must be more assholes where you live. I've seen that happen, but not often. Most often out here if someone parks out in BFE, they assume they are an employee or can't be arsed to walk.
