GB and DET are legit teams. DET almost made it to the SB and probably should have. Loads of talent on both sides of the ball, very good to sometimes excellent QB play. Even after FA and this year's draft, the Bears will still have a talent gap between GB and DET.

The goal this year is for Flus to make the playoffs as a WC and split with the Lions and Packers.

IF Flus misses the playoffs and goes 0-2 against the Packers (0-6 in his career) I think he has to be canned. This, of course, is not good IF the Bears are drafting a rookie QB at 1 in April. It's why keeping Flus around for a third season makes no sense to me.

The Bears have the 3rd easiest schedule in the league so maybe there is hope.
Detroit is a fine team. They don’t have “loads of talent” on the defense though. It’s basically a couple of good safeties and Hutchinson. McNeil is solid too but it’s below average across the board to go along with a a poor DC.

You honestly believe that the Lions are Super Bowl contenders? Jared Goff flirts with mediocrity and is the ultimate game manager. The Lions are like the Eagles more likely on the cusp of ruin than back to back NFC Title contenders.

The Packers have one of the worst defenses in football and the Vikings are about to change QBs and the best QBs should be off the board by the time the Vikings pick. The division and the conference are wide open if the Bears pick the right QB.

I keep forgetting that I'm dealing with Cubs and Sox fans that are used to losing.
I don’t like baseball so kool irrelevant comment.

The packers do not in fact have one of the worst defenses in football. They are a young team with talent on both sides.

Yes, the lions are a good football team. They are also a young team. They have a huge hole at CB but other than that they are quite competent. Can they beat mahomes and the chiefs? Idk. But there is no reason to think they can’t be back in the nfc championship game.

The Vikings are ripe for the taking - that I agree they are middling and could be a very bad team next year.

Please go position by position and without discussing QB explain explain how the bears stack up vs the lions and packers

Edit: while you’re at it please address how the NFC north stacks up with the AFC south, which was the main point I made

Okay the AFC South was better this year than it was a year ago. Three teams were in contention to win the division on the last day of the season.

If Trevor Lawrence was in the NFC he would be the best QB in the conference.

The NFC is the weakest conference between the two with the worst QB talent across the board. Which is why Brock Purdy looks like an MVP candidate.

But the second Purdy lines up against the best teams in football I.e. the Ravens and the Chiefs he looks like a horrible QB and plays his two worst games. Competent defense? Purdy folds.

The Bears were the worst team in football by a mile in 2022 it took a small investment in the defense to make it look competent again. The offense received equal investment and Justin Fields and the offense is still trash.

Next.

So I give you a chance to have a normal human interaction and discuss football and this is the best you can put forth?

"The AFC south was better this year than it was a year ago"

You did not address the point or question that I made now like 3 times? When going worst to first one of the main determinants is how good the division is. I asked you to explain how the AFC South is better than the NFC North and you bring up complete nonsense and talk about brock purdy?

Are you capable of having a coherent discussion?

Edit: The NFC South had multiple teams in contention to win the division down the stretch, it just so happens that all 3 teams in contention were shit. Your example does nothing to bolster your argument.

lol. Trevor Lawrence not would be the best QB in the conference.
Dak, Cousins, Hurts, Goff, Mayfield, Love, Purdy, Murray, Stafford are all better than him. I’m not even a fan of half of the QB’s listed but Lawrence was a pile of turd last year.

Yes the AFC SOUTH is a better division than the NFC North because it's in a harder conference and they have better teams. The Bears and the Vikings are both trash teams because of their QBs.

You made your statement about the AFC South and I summarily dismissed because it was so stupid to begin with. Do you want me to dismiss it again? Do you think the NFC is better than the AFC?

Here let me help you out, Jared Goff is a worse QB than Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence has had the Jags in contention in two of his three years in the NFL. The Jags went from worst to first and were still competitive despite having a down year in a division that CJ Stroud came into.

It's like you don't want to acknowledge that this is a QB driven league and the team with the least amount of talent just won their second consecutive Super Bowl with the best QB. The Chiefs with less talent than the Eagles and 49ers who completely rebuilt their roster around Patrick Mahomes in less than three years have won back to back Super Bowl titles since they won their first one.

Let me help you out if this year proved anything is that the team with the best QBs the conference has the best QBs and they dominated.

If the Bears get even good QB play they should be in the playoffs.

This has to be a fucking joke. Lawrence is overrated by the clueless. You need to take a much closer look. He actually kind of sucks.

Dak Prescott who folded in the playoffs yet again? Kirk Cousins who folds in the playoffs every year? Goff who couldn't handle the Bears defense? Mayfield has one good year and suddenly he's among the best? Murray? Come on man you're delusional.

This is the argument y'all make to justify Justin Fields existence in the NFL and it's hilarious.

He would be a distant third in this division lol
Only thing he would lead in the NFC conference is turnovers. He has more turnovers than any QB in his class and it’s not even close

Led one of the worst organizations in football back to relevance after dealing with the worst coaching hires in NFL history his rookie year? They were 1-15, dealt with the Urban Meyer debacle and a 3 win season and have back to back winning seasons in two years in Lawrence's third year with Christian Kirk as their number one WR.

They have arguably the worst ownership worst front office and the worst fan support and play in the worst market in the NFL and they're far more competitive than the Chicago Bears who have the opposite situation in terms of resources fan support etc.

No they don’t have the worst ownership nor do they have the worst front office. The worst market has nothing to do why Lawrence has underwhelmed.

Bears are 16th. LMFAO.
And after the Meyer debacle, Khan made a commitment to back out of football operations. So the list has zero relevance (and also proves that the Jags don’t have the worst ownership).
