I would also like to point out that John Henry had a bit of MLB experience, primarily in minor league ownership. Ricketts bought a team and while a fan, doesn't have any MLB experience. I should also point put that all this info simply came from Wikipedia and not my own knowledge. I just think it is too early to bag on Ricketts. He (they) are young owners buying a floundering company. We need to give him more than two seasons to start getting mad.

Not just minor league ownership, but he was the owner of the Florida Marlins for 3 years prior to buying the Red Sox. All of us are anxious for things to start improving, and while the record is going south there are some positives now with a farm system finally developing position prospects for the first time in 20 years. This next offseason is the one that I had targeted as being the interesting one with the money coming off the books and targets out there. We will see what direction this organization is headed by spring training next year.

We've been over this one before. Getting to the postseason results in playing meaningful games. Doesn't mean that just because they were failures for the past 103 that they weren't meaningful. I would gladly take watching the 2008 version of this team over this dreck.
