Same thing he's currently doing for the Yankees under a different title...what's the point here?.

Jim Hendry's Work Experience

1983 - 1991, Coaching Baseball for Creighton University. He was an assistant coach in '83 and part of '84 before becoming head coach in the second half of '84.

1991-1994, Worked for the Florida Marlins as an assistant to Dave Dombrowski. In 1993 he coached in the Gulf Coast Rookie League, and in '94 he coached for El Mira in A ball.

1995 - Worked for the Chicago Cubs. He was hired by Andy McPhail as director of player development. In 1996 he became scouting director as well. In assistant general manager in August 2000, and was promoted to General Manager in July 2002.

Hoyer better start winning some games then

I think he'll have to continue to show improvement and if in the next 3 years they aren't solidly contending then yeah he's probably gone to. I think ownership has given him more leeway because of the fact they were asked to reduce payroll. But in 2015, all there big salary obligations will be gone. Most are gone in 2014 other than $13 mil from Sorianoo. In 2015, they probably have $100 million in yearly salary to grow to minus any long term deals they add this off season. So in reality there's not much reason they shouldn't be able to grow into a contender.
