Imagine if Luck had been drafted by the Bears in 2009. I believe that would have been a fast track way to derail his HOF run from day 1.

I'm not saying we should spend big in free agency next year. I think we need a few decent pickups to fill holes that we don't draft. We should stay away from the Revis type of signings.

Just making the point that when you are close as the patriots were. A couple of big one year deals can get you over the hump.

Alternately it can blow up in your face as it is currently for the colts.
