I didnt get to see the first preseason game yet, but just finished watching first quarter of the jazz bulls game in england and what I saw of Byers I like. I dont think he's going to be anything special, but he's got some potential there and on such a roster lacking depth it wouldnt hurt keeping him on a min salary.

Yeah, I was pissed when I saw Byars wearing Ben's #. Whose this scrub wearing Ben's #?

You know that is kind of how I felt about Noah wearing Longley's number...who the hell this dude think he is wearing that number? That's Luuuuuuuuuuc's number!!!
I was highly upset that DeMarcus Nelson was wearing Duhon's number last year

Maybe Byars can sneak on the squad if he makes some more shots.

Someone on here can remind me. Who was the little guard for the Bulls about 4 seasons ago who had a really nice preseason and made the team as like the 15th guy? I can't remember his name. Maybe Byars is this years' version of him.

As for wearing #7, not surprised. BG is gone, the number is up for grabs.

The Bulls let Jack Haley wear number 54 and Horace Grant helped the Bulls win 3 titles. But that was at least one year removed.

But with the haircut, the frame, and the jersey, Byars looks a lot like BG.

He is what he is; a guy that can shoot a little, play D, do the dirty work, and provide a little more offense with some confidence. He is a solid bench option especially with a thin backcourt! Also, he might have been cut, but there are several players that make a niche after bouncing around; John Starks, Bobby Phils, Udeke, Bruce Bowen, etc.. I think this guy fits more in the Bobby Phils mode.

  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
The guy took a potential game winner (and missed) in the Utah game so I'd say he has a shot of making the team (perhaps they were looking for some clutch replacement for BG or something, not sure couldn't watch the game).

They were just testing it to see if it has something to do with #7 or something.

Wanted to see if whoever wears #7 jersey is automatically a clutch player maybe? (see Kukoc, BG).
