Chicago Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery’s ailing hamstring continues to limit him, and this Sunday he could miss his fourth consecutive game.

Jeffery did not fully participate in Thursday’s practice, as the Bears continue to prepare for their trip to Kansas City to play the Chiefs. The team’s No. 1 receiver has fully participated in only two practices since the regular season began.

Among the pitfalls of a lingering injury are repetitive exchanges with reporters, and Jeffery certainly has had his share since Aug. 12, when he suffered a left calf injury that sidelined him for the whole preseason.

Jeffery’s chat with media at his locker Thursday afternoon felt familiar.

“I’m just taking it one day at a time,” he said. “It’s a process. As a player, I want to be out there, too. But it’s a process. It’s a long season.”

He said the injury is not testing his patience because football players understand they’re going to get hurt.

“I miss being out there a lot, but at the same time, it’s a process,” he said. “But I’ll be back out there soon, hopefully.”

Making matters worse for the Bears, receiver Eddie Royal (ankle) sat out practice for the second straight day.

When he comes back in a couple weeks and starts making those ridiculous catches, no one will remember this article or thread.

Perhaps putting the franchise tag on him for a year is a good idea. Its probably that or sign him. I cant see just letting leave.

I have no problem with tagging him because its only over paying for 1 year. It looks like we'll have a lot of cap room, regardless.

I've heard 'you can't fix stupid', but are you telling me that 'you can't fix stupid genetics'?

In the mod forum planning your ban
Don't the Bears already have enough bad players that are actually bad?

I don't understand why people are so eager to shit on a player that is good.

To be fair we don't know how good Alshon really is. This would have been his first full season as the 1

The score, on the zaidman segment, had an audio clip of Alshon after practice. Basically, I couldn't understand the a word the guy was saying, nor could B&B. Zac translated the best he could, and AJ really didn't sound like he was pushing to be back and didn't seem to care much honestly.

Imagine how he'll be after he actually gets paid

Yeah he seems really soft to me. I don't think this is something that Fox and Pace have much toleration for honestly.

Did not care much??? He is answering the same question for the 500th time. Did you want him to cry a little?

How to be a full Special person Chicago Bears fan. Eject vocal outspoken pro-bowl wide receiver because he's opening his mouth too much. Follow that up with ejecting a soft spoken pro-bowl wide receiver because he's not as outspoken and passionate. Makes perfect fucking sense to me. Pass the cyanide please.

It has more to do with missing games for mysterious "soft tissue" injuries all the time. Especially when other WRs like Brandon Marshall play injured or in pain all of the time.

No, no. You're right. Its just these bunch of fucktards talking out of their asses. Along with the writer.

If I remember correctly, Alshon still trains with Brandon at Fitspeed. Not that it fits with the bullshit narrative that these fuckboys want to push though.

Dan Pompei is one of the most respected Football writers in the business. He was given the Dick McCann Award in 2013. Maybe he's right about this and maybe he's not. But he's not some "fucktard."

I agree Pompei is to be respected and I wish he was writing again about the Bears. However, he might be angling for a bigger gig on WSCR so he might be using a legit question to stir up some controversy. Personally I would love him and Grobstein to do a show together that is earlier than the Grobber's current graveyard shift.
