I'm glad that Bowman didn't make any significant moves to shake up the roster. The Blackhawks don't need it... all these other teams that went out and acquired all these players could mess with their chemistry and it's a risk with the playoffs about 2 1/2 weeks away.

Did we need a 2nd line C? Yeah... but Derek Roy isn't that guy as much as people wanted to believe it. Seeing what Pominville went for, I also don't blame Stan for not going out and getting someone like Vermette.

Im the only guy who thinks Roy is good apparently. He is going to help the Canucks just watch. But the Wild trumped them to all **** and made the best deal of the season nabbing the best available overall player.

Im fine with Stan doing little. This team healthy is still a conference favorite just other teams ie the Wild made themselves that more competitive. Its going to be a fun playoffs in the West. Wild are rolling the dice here but its worth it for them seeing they spent a shit load of coin in the offseason...mine aswel keep that train on the tracks.

Considering how some of the deals looked, it was indeed a seller's market. The Hawks have done well without that elusive 2nd line center and I see no reason why they couldn't continue it going into the post-season. Bowman being conservative I think was the right choice and I've never understood the camp who keep screaming he needs to do a trade, any trade it seems, just because.

You shut your pie hole about Vermette hater! In a parallel universe somewhere in the cosmos I feel certain the Yotes traded Vermette to the Hawks!

I don't even think Vermette was on the market to be honest. Never really heard his name mentioned much unless it was on these boards. I think you got duped into thinking he was on the market books.

Roy on the other hand was on the market and you failed me books wasting your energy on an imaginary idea.

LOL---he was never on the market to my knowledge. It was never about that. I wanted a deal sought out and crafted for him---that was the beauty of it! I wanted to avoid the "traditional" TDL hysteria and simply target someone we needed for a specific deficiency but who also fit the style of the team.

I'm just saying, if Pominville net that return, I'd cringe to see what Bowman would have to give up for Vermette. I bet he would have to start discussions with either Saad or TT.

I've wanted Vermette on the Hawks since his days on Ottawa, so no argument there from me.

dont even compare pominville to vermette. pominville would eat vermettes pretty little face in a competition of skill and leadership on the ice.

You're right... but Vermette is a C, so that automatically means teams must try and fleece the Hawks in their needs.

Well Stan has fleeced a few teams so some are probably looking for revenge. Ie the LEafs.

**** off hoser. The beauty of my 2C fever dream is that I can still hope the Hawks laser-focus target in on Vermette (or Pavelski!) and still craft a deal for him even in the off-season because he has a few years left on his reasonable deal. Eff you. Also, stop being a ******-y fun-sucker.
