Chemistry is one thing. Conflicting egos are another. I agree on chemistry, but I don't think those guys are going to have issues with clashing egos. They all want to win. Guys aren't made captain because they have huge egos and don't get along with others. Mostly the opposite, actually.

Well I had two players directly question it to me so I guess they think about it. I'm not in an NHL locker room with professional athletes so I can only go by what I hear and think on my own.

They changed the dynamic of that dressing room without question adding all the bodies they did. With only 3-4 weeks to figure it out, or 10 games in the Pens case. Short time to mesh everything. Desire to win I don't question.

I think we had the best deadline out of every team in the NHL...

We are adding Hossa, Sharp, and Handzus to our lineup.

The Pens are going through a similar situation as the Hawks did when their streak ended. They will be scrambling for a few games, but I could see the addition of all the new players extending that struggle. Adding as many players as they did will most definitely alter the locker room chemistry, despite the fact they didn't ship out any roster players and having strong leadership. They are also missing a few key pieces from their D which isn't helping. I do hope that the Pens will end up crashing and burning, but I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually righted the ship in time for the playoffs. That said, I also question their goaltending and their D and therefor I am not convinced they are the über-contenders everyone seems to make them. Only time will tell.

What are the rules about post-deadline trades? They have to go through waivers or something? Or was this addressed in the new CBA? I can't remember, but it always seems like someone slips through after the trade deadline to be dealt somewhere?

i agree with rk regarding the pens. too many moves on their part. but on the other hand thats a fragile team to begin with. crosby malkin and leddy all have issues again going into the playoffs so they had to add some insurance even though none of those three are replaceable.
