My brother was the only white player on the football team of a historically black college. He played QB there over playing another position (S or LB) at multiple D1 schools. He regrets this decision.

My dad who passed away 4 years ago was one of the most famous Radio DJs in the state of North Carolina. The day he got his dream job (would have been syndicated up and down the east coast like Limbaugh and other tools like that) he felt groggy and went to the doctor. Was diagnosed with leukemia. His 1 show on the air was an interview with John Edwards' wife about her own cancer diagnosis. Creepy timing. The night before, the Bears stomped the shit out of the Bills. It was the first Bears game in 3 years that he couldn't make it to the sports bar to watch it with me.

My grandfather was a ridiculously good baseball prospect who had a contract with the Cinci Reds among other teams but chose to take care of his family over pursuing his dream.

My parents lived in the same area as the band members of Cheap Trick, they were friends with them the years leading up to them getting famous.

Just a couple random tidbits.

My Grandfather on my Mothers side was in WW2. His unit was suppose to be assigned with Patton, but 2 weeks prior was changed. He loathed the French because of his experience, and if you know the character Archie Bunker, then you know my Grandfather. He died March '81, to stubborn to go to the Hospital despite the surgery wouldve saved him, clogged artery, so never got to know him. He was red/green color blind, and flat foot. Same as my Mom, while I dont have flat feet, I am red/green color blind.

Several members of my family have been involved with the military. My dad and uncle were aboard the same ship during Korea. A cousin served in Kosovo. Another cousin is a Marine who has done tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. My mom was a civilian employee of the Army, teaching brats of officers stationed in Berlin in the 60s.

My Polish roots have me and my Sister as the 3rd or 4th Generation in America. My Irish side however, goes back to the Mayflower. Though I do not have facts, having my Irish side being in North America for so long, its quite possible that bloodline participated or at the least, witnessed every war America was in. My Father, (Irish line), was in Vietnam, the last known member to participate in a War, but as I dont associate with that side, no further knowledge beyond that, (Korea, Gulf, etc).

I share the exact same double jointed ability as my Mom. We can move our little toe independently. Yeah.. quite the talent to impress chicks. Thanks Mom :shifty:

When he was younger, my nephew used to say "I don' like it" whenever we'd give him a bite of food he didn't care for. Now that he's older and has learned manners, he says "not the best".
