Same thing that happened to Bickell this series?

That would be the Bruins. Everybody has to step up and we need a few more hero goals we are so good at. Gonna be an amazing series, as one should be between recent champions jockeying for dynasty status.

The Hawks just need to get some movement going on the power play. They tend to just all stand around waiting on something to happen. Get some movement going, start getting the D to chase them around, cause some confusion. It would open up shooting and passing lanes that way. Oh, and the biggest thing that they could do would be to actually SHOOT THE DAMN PUCK!! Putting pucks on net with the man advantage is never a bad idea. Even if they don't score with the shot, it would at least open up the possibility of a rebound for the guy standing in front of the net.

If they are not practicing the PP in practice, what exactly is Q thinking? It is the one part of their game that needs worked.

What could be more important than the PP in hockey? FFS it doesn't make any sense not to practice the PP... thats like not having designed plays in the redzone... or hitting with a guy on third... or any other position to score...

idiot... Q

I'm going to need more evidence than a CCS poster claiming that "a commentator said it" before I believe that the Hawks aren't practicing the PP.

I remember hearing one of the guys saying something to that effect. Was only half paying attention at the time, was reading through posts on here and The Committed Indian. I remember hearing that part, mainly because I was so shocked to hear that they wouldn't be practicing that portion of the game.

It should not be so shocking that they don't practice it since Q is more concerned about the way they play D. Kinda like Lovie not worrying about the offensive side of the ball.

I think it may have more to do with the fact that, this late in the season, I don't think either team is practicing much at all.

this is an interesting thing going on here with your PP. Everytime the bruins go shorthanded I go "oh ****, not again" my bruins have been taking WAY to many dumb penalties vs you guys. Almost reminds me of '11 when the Bruins were actually better short handed than they were on PP. Kinda strange that when the bruins would go short handed we could say, well at least we got a chance at a goal!
Thing is the bruins are very disciplined defensively and barring a mental lapse, goals no matter what the situation is are going to be hard to come by.

Well, they're not in as dire a situation as they were against the Wings. But the turnaround in that series started in Game 5. With the score tied at 1, the Hawks scored a pair of power play goals en route to a 4-2 victory. They also had a PPG in Game 6, sending the series back to Chicago.

The Hawks may not be able to win this series without scoring at least one PPG.

This idea might be the elixir the PP needs.

Stan can pay them in beer. And not just a cup, but reward them with a keg on the bench, with Tampon whispering into their ear "score, and you get a better brew". Couldn't hurt.

Q needs to send this PP to Johnnys. Is there a fast flight back into the city?

Johnnys ice house- Doing the power play the old fashion way- Rhianna style.

What a pathetic powerplay. There's no movement during it. Just 5 idiots passing it back and forth. No rotating. No cycling. No one moving around. Looks like this each time: Pass it back to the point, pass it across, down to the corner, back to the point, fire a shot 5 feet wide of the net, cleared out, bring it back in, pass to the point, pass across, shoot into the shins of the opponent...

Just terrible.

Work the puck to Toews in the corner. Let him bull the puck to the front of the net. From there, the other two forwards immediately crash the net. You hope chaos ensues. Leave the two point men back to prevent an odd man rush the other way and to possibly pick up a loose rebound that kicks out to the high slot.

It ain't gotta be pretty.
