I don't understand why they don't try and create off the rush more; that's one of the Hawks 5-on-5 strengths.

How many goals have the Hawks scored when their forwards rush into the zone then find a D-man trailing into the play late?

Forget trying to go 5 on 4 every time. Try and spring for some 3 on 2s or even 4 on 3s. More room = more chances = less blocked shots.

I like what melty is suggesting. i also like the idea Edzo mentioned last night. Don't remember it exactly, but basically have the puck below the net more and look for a crashing man from the point instead of setting up point shots that get blocked and have no chance of scoring.

Better scoring chances because of closer shot, plus the option to pass if defenders collapse on the puck.

I.e. the last set play they've ever had work with consistency. It worked non stop when they did that in 2010-11 or until ot vs Louongo... But failed constantly last year.

I've wondered why they've rarely gave it a go this year.

Well, I missed the goal because of work and still haven't seen the highlight but, here they go again with a goal when they absolutely, positively, had to have one.

They did alright. Looked a lot more competent than most nights. That shorty was huge, its too bad they gave up 2 PP goals though

Kompon should be gone regardless if they win or lose this series.

Simply no excuses for the PP to be near the bottom with all that talent.

And what blame.does he deserve for improving a unit from flaming trash to hot garbage.

Kompon was fired last year for a bad PP and Suter didn't get along with him. Supposedly he shot pucks at him in practice one day.

Kompon still sucks, but what he's done, especially if they won the cup, isn't deserving for Bowman to superseded Q and kick Kompon out.
