My old first generation PS2 died today. Thinking about asking for a refurbished 1st generation PS3 for Christmas. I want something with backwards compatability so I can play my PS2 games (namely MVP 2005 and Tony Hawk's Underground 2).

Gamestop has the original PS3's listed at 200. Refurbished are like 30 bucks cheaper, though not positive. My PS2 works, though I think its time is dwindling too. Refurbished PS2's are going for 60 bucks tho.

Both, you poor ass bastards.

Xbox has more games plus a much better online service. PS3 has some great exclusives plus blue ray.

The choice has been made!!! 360 it is. I cant pass on the fact I can get a 360, and 6 pre-owned games if done right for 250. Now the question is what games, though my eyes are fixed upon a few.

So are you going online with it or not?

Assuming you aren't-

Fallout 3 (an RPG for everyone)
Oblivion (to see if you'd like a game like Skyrim)
Assassins Creed (chug through the game no matter how repetitive it gets)
Assassins Creed 2 (too see if you want to keep going with the AC series)
Forza 4
Alan Wake

Assassins Creed 1 and 2 is definite. Thats 25 bucks together. Funny you mentioned Oblivion, as I looked at it a hour ago. What exactly are the series? 1st person 'shooters'? No Fable, but they got part 2 at least. 15 bucks, not to shabby.

Elder Scrolls is the series, it's a first person sword/axe/mace/bow/magic game. Open world, can go anywhere you want, do quests, hunt animals, pick up anything you find and sell it. Tons of stuff. They're mainly PC games, but Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind was brought to the original XBOX, then Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion came to the 360 then PS3 a year later. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was pretty much made for consoles in mind because of the menu systems.

Same company that made those games made Fallout 3.

Oblivion- medieval like, swords, goblins, elves, stuff like that.

Fallout 3- post apocalyptic world, guns, mutant creatures/humans, stuff like that.

Thought so. Kinda the whole WoW concept, which considering I got plenty of time now, not a bad idea. Its rough as I need to stay under the 250 mark, but main reason Im going with the 360, as theres more games cheaper than PS3. Sucks in a way, but Im still sore PS2 controllers are 20 bucks lol
