Minecraft was announced for the PS3 and as a PS4 launch title. Welp, that renders my 360 obsolete.

I had previously put a down payment for the PS4 after being loyal to the 360 since it's launch, but their game policies kind of turned me away. Since they have done a complete 180 on almost all of them I was intrigued but still stayed with the ps4. But after they have said the Kinect didn't have to be connected I switched back.

33 titles will be out this year, while there are over 180 currently in development according to Sony.

Should I trade my ps3 and all my games for the ps4 or hang on to the ps3. I'm not particularly attached to any ps3 games I don't think.

RSX can be easily emulated, however PPC based Cell instructions are still FAR from being emulated accurately on any x86 components. All of the PS3 games that are PS3 exclusives, will have to be reworked and ported to run on x86 hardware. And many will be, because thats a revenue stream that game developers and Sony wont want to miss out on.

Once basic PPC emulation is accurate, it's possible that a PS5 might have the power to run PS3 games, if PS5 happens, and if PS5 is x86 like PS4.

Not actual PS3 discs, but Sony bought the streaming service Gaikai last year and will roll that out sometime next year so you can stream PS1, PS2, and PS3 games on your PS4.

That's exactly what I'm doing. Trading in my 360 too since Minecraft will be on the PS4. Got 3 months left on my Gold membership, which will be expired a week or so after the PS4 is released.

Going to trade all that stuff in about a week before my PS4 arrives, and pre-ordering a bunch of PS4 games plus a second controller.

I was looking into preordering from Walmart today before lunch. I get back after lunch and they are sold out online. Even when I could have ordered it said I would ship on Dec. 31. Is there any places left with launch day preordering?

I was also thinking of waiting until the second wave of machines to make sure they get the bugs out but I don't know.

That's it but like two hours ago it said sold out online. Weird. Have you already preordered?

Yep, I pre-ordered the Battlefield 4/PS+ bundle on Amazon on August 4th, and they were sold out on August 9th. There's always a chance that Amazon gets more pre-orders available. They ran out in July sometime, then got more bundles available, then ran out August 9th.

I reserved mine in store in Walmart. It's system only for $399 and you get to put miney down and pay over time until Dec 13 or you can pick up on lanch day and pay what ever you owe. I figured I'd trade my old system and all my games an accessories in for ps4 games and controllers.

Going to go to Gamestop and trade in all my PS3 and 360 games either today or tomorrow. Going to pre-order a second controller and Assassins Creed IV.

Going to keep my PS3 until a little closer to the PS4 release date, so I can still have a Netflix/YouTube/Blu Ray player. Not sure when I'm gonna trade in my 360. I guess I can do that today or tomorrow as well.

With Watch_Dogs getting delayed until next year, some people were worried they might not be getting their launch PS4's since some retailers had a Watch_Dogs PS4 bundle for pre-order. Gamestop and Amazon said they'd still be getting PS4's to people who pre-ordered those bundles.
