Yeah, it must have really sucked not spending his 20's and some part of his 30's paying back student loans every month.

I'm sure If he had any brains at all he would have racked up 100k or more in debt while majoring in gender studies and spending 4 years learning how to dye his hair blue and leading protests against the "H" in "H2O."

Recently I have seen ads for Thin Crust Chicago Style Pizza. Isn't that name an oximoron like Jumbo Shrimp?

For Pizza hut... it's not actually that bad. However, within 2mo my local Hut stopped serving it and has been just giving out the normal thin crust pizzas in its stead. I would say something... but I'd rather not have shit and spit in my pizza.

TBF, before the Government backed college loans, allowing colleges to exponentially increase tuition to the astronomical rates they are at now.... it was probably entirely possible to afford those loans on a Hut paycheck.

Just would like to point out that Ben Johnson is on the same wavelength as I've been preaching and said so in his press conference:

"It's clear that modern football in the NFL is quarterback driven. You can look at analytics, quarterback success is a higher predictor of winning and losing than turnover ratio and it's been that way for 20 years"

Indeed this goes exactly with what I said the Bears focusing so much on the turnover battle has been detrimental to the team winning.

Coincidentally, my first thought when it was reported the Bears hired Ben Johnson is wow he really reminds me of Biff from CCS.

First sentence of the OP goes hard!

Congratulations!!!

So you and Ben have figured out what nobody else seems to know: The NFL is QB driven?

Thank God, our coach has your insight as the rest of us had no idea whatsoever that the NFL depends on quarterback play. Thank you clueing us in!

Just because one thing is a better indicator than the other... it doesn't mean the other is detrimental.

I agree. But QB and line protection is the key. You don’t have to be #1, but you have to win at the trenches more than lose. Not just the QB is enough. But a big part, yes. Helps when your QB is mobile too and can extend plays or take off.
No question. The OL really stunted the growth of Caleb last year. The number 1 priority this offseason is to address the OL. I anticipate it will take several years to get all the pieces in place.

I tend to associate the focus on turnovers to be a defensive HC priority. IMO, that traces back the general idea they are more risk adverse and would much rather try to keep the game low scoring. In those situations, turnovers and their effect becomes magnified.

Anyone sense the mood shift from @DanielCCSBears ?

Methinks he's hedging his bets on the doom and gloom because the Bears may have actually gotten this hire right....

Guys please stop pointing out legit examples and stats that dispel Biff’s point and just admit he’s right

I used to work at Pizza Hut to get through college. We called ourselves pizza sluts. Even after 5 years of working there and bringing pizza home most nights, it still tastes good to me (except their hand tossed, that crust just sucks at Pizza Hut).
So…..someone suggests we talk about pizza, and you come back with Pizza Hut?? C’mon, man!

I give credit where it's due, but Ryan Poles is still the GM.

Not firing Ryan Poles was a horrible move. Failing to fire Matt Eberflus last year was a mistake.

Ryan Poles is completely overwhelmed as an evaluator. He's a bottom 10 GM in this league.

Doing the easy thing is what we are all capable of doing. Firing Waldron and Eberflus that's easy. Drafting Caleb Williams? That's easy.

We can all do the easy thing.

I'm happy they didn't shit down their leg. I'm more concerned about how they get a competent offensive line within the next two years.

You should be very happy about Ben Johnson then. He really holds the power now in Halas Hall - his contract says as much.

Poles isn't going to be able to do anything on his own any more and won't need Ian Cunningham to be a voice in his ear.

Poles will be serving at the pleasure of Ben Johnson and "buying the groceries" Ben wants him to buy. And I think it was basically Poles' willingness to be Ben's ***** that he still has a job.
