I'm not saying this is what I think the final 4 should look like but the NCAA will always look for an excuse to have OSU and Alabama in the playoffs. OSU has one loss against the #2 team which was a 4 point game after 3 quarters. I don't think there's any question weather OSU will be #3. Alabama will be ahead of any 2 loss team in the country, that's a given. They lost a 3 point game on the road against #7 and lost in OT against #10 on the road. My gut tells me the committee will put a 2 loss Alabama ahead of a TCU team that didn't beat anyone above a #15 ranking at the time they played them and lost to a now #10 KSU. There are just enough excuses out there for the NCAA to make it happen.

Gregg Gabriel here discusses the fact that he thinks the best QB in the draft is Levis. If he is enamored by Wil Levis, other scouts definitely are.

There is a discussion going on, of which I excerpted some quotes above, that creates a potential scenario for how Levis can rise up draft boards. There is a real possibility that there are 3 QBs that NFL teams may want in this draft. I think there are still possible 2 other QBs that can go in the 1st.

As of today, 12/3, The consensus big board has Stroud dropping 3 positions to number 4. Anderson is now the consensus 2 and Carter 3. Again, yes, this is all speculative, but it does show the Bears may be in a good position to trade down, even if we aren't picking 2.

So, how does this affect the Bears? Simple, it allows for us to be able to move back and, possibly, move back again if another QB is on the board. Also, it may create a scenario where we can move back and still grab Carter.
Carter never falls past Detroit at 3

If they want to take the most talented teams, it will be Georgia, Michigan, Ohio St and Alabama. That also would produce the best ratings.

That said, TCU played a statistically harder schedule than Alabama and had one less loss. And their loss was in an extra game that Alabama was not good enough to play in their conference. So I could easily see TCU getting in over Alabama.

Last year, they intentionally avoided a rematch by making Alabama 1 and Georgia 3. They had Alabama leap 3 spots including Michigan who won to get to that top ranking. I wonder if they will avoid it this year by making Ohio St 4 and keeping Michigan at 2. They could easily just say that Ohio State did not play and does not deserve to go up 2 spots and ahead of TCU. But if it is Alabama that is chosen over TCU, then it has to be Ohio State 3 and Alabama 4 since they both did not play and Ohio State was already ahead of them.

Alabama is clearly better than TCU. But they have no one to blame but themselves if they don't get in because they lost 2 games and barely won 3 others against average teams. That is the part that people miss. If you are going to be impressed by Alabama's close losses, then you have to be unimpressed by their close wins. You can not have it both ways.

They are not going to have a OSU vs Michigan rematch in the first game of the playoffs.
Bama just doesn't belong this year, sorry. As mentioned, TCU's only loss was in a conference championship game, a game neither OSU or Bama played in. Who is to say Bama or OSU doesn't lose if they play that additional game?

TCU> OSU > Bama

OSU > Bama

Suck it Bama.

I follow TCU football and have for years. They’ve been down recently but when Dalton and Boykin went through the program they won a lot of games and beat the “big boys” almost every chance they had.

They did lose the Fiesta Bowl to an excellent Boise St. team in Dalton’s junior year. Dalton had beaten Boise St. the previous year in a lesser bowl. The next year, they went undefeated and beat JJ Watts’ Wisconsin team in the Rose Bowl.

They were hosed in 2014 by the playoff committee and absolutely trucked Mississippi in their bowl game 42-3. All the SEC meatballs were saying the same shit then that I’m reading now. That team was built to beat anyone and dropped out of the third playoff spot after hanging 50 on Iowa St. the final weekend of the regular season.

They mixed in a bowl win against Oregon too.

They are not a perennial power, but they’re really focusing on the capturing the best players in the DFW area and that could pay dividends. Plus, they have one of the richest alumni groups in the country so NIL deals will be zero issue for TCU. They can offer premium numbers for recruits they target.

Duggan is a fucking warrior. That guy has so much grit and determination. He’s not a great QB but he’s a big, tough dude that puts it on the line to win regardless of the physical cost to him.

TCU is in and they’ll most likely stay at 3.

The only team in the playoffs that they stand no chance against is Georgia. They can play with anyone else.

Yeah he actually played 2 really good games to finish out the season. Following the slaughter of Tennessee up with another good game against a really good Clemson defense was impressive
Yeah. He redeemed himself after crash and burning at OU. I think Clemson is back to “Clemsoning” now. ND is hardly much more than average and they buttfucked them 35-14

I think Clemson offense is pretty bad (qb sucks), but I thought the defense was solid having 2 potential top 15 picks on the DL. I could be wrong. It did seem like either rattler played better the last 2 games or the play calling changed. Not sure what it was.

Well it looks like Alabama and Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl so the Big 12 haters get their wish.

There was a time when he was in the conversation of being a top pick. He may cement himself there again up against the kid from USC in next year’s draft. He’d be a fool to leave this year.
