Before the season started, MacLean I thought never would have been considered for this. The results are proving themselves. If MacLean doesn't get it, I'm surprised.

No doubt. An .802%, pace for 131pts (wouldve been 2nd on all-time list)

The top 2 winning percentages of all times were -

29-30 Bruins - 38-5-1

43-44 Canadians - 38-5-7

Q's Hawks were at 36-7-5

11gm winning streak, 24gm point streak - during a season where they played a ridiculously condensed schedule....

This should be Maclean, Blysma, and Babcock hands down.

Why? Look at what Babcock did without Lidstrom this year? It was amazing.

And i didn't realize talking about coaches in the coach of the year award, is considered trolling.

Bergerons to lose.

Q deserves the nomination. Ill defend him till he actually becomes stale with the Hawks. I think this season he has proved once again that he is the best player coach in the game. I also believe he had a lot to do with the season record. Benefit of talent on the team? Obviously...but when you go from 8th in a conference to 1st overall in the league in one year with basically the same team? Going to get the nomination every time.

Maclean obviously wins this one though...guy had major key injuries to get around all year and a young team also. Might be the best coaching of a team in a single season this decade.

All three of those candidates are good choices IMO. Can make a solid argument for any of them.

I really like what the Walrus did in Ottawa though, I think he wins it considering he had just about zero in terms of "star power" for stretches of the season. At one point Anderson, Karlsson, and Spezza were all out with injury... Ottawa easily could have had a season similar to the "injury-riddled" Panthers (or so was the excuse in Florida). Of course, the Hawks start was nothing short of spectacular, and honestly Boudreau did a commendable job as well with a team that completely whiffed on even making the post-season last year.

Maclean took a team that was pegged for the basement to the 2nd round of the playoffs. He lost his top goalie and defensemen and still made the playoffs.

Q took a team that was supposed to be a winner and kept them as one of the best single seasons in NHL history.

I give this to Maclean because he took chicken shit and made chicken soup.

This. I dont think there is an East Coast bias if he is picked as the winner out of the finalists I think he is the guy that deserves it the most.
