Not likely. Almost everyone makes them on a pre-heated comal without additives.
I actually just searched quesadilla frita on google images and I have definitely never seen one of those...

We are talking mexican food. the phrases Mexican Food and Taco Bell should never be in the same sentences.

LOL, after having authentic Mexican food for most of my life, the first time I had Taco Bell, I nearly puked. Haven't had it since, been like 15 years. My grandfather makes awesome flour tortillas from scratch, and when my aunts come in from Mexico, they go nuts with tamales. Great stuff.

I did tamales once. Part of a crew of like 8 and we made 1500 of them. I'm going back to eating them

Once fried they are a special type called fritas.

Yeah, fritas means fried, which literally translates into fried quesadillas. So, they're still quesadillas, just fried.

Yeah, I was reading that one...I make a salsa, so that is a sauce and I make a gravy with the bits of meat on the bottom of the pan. I like my gravy, but I am by no means knowledgeable there.
