Bob Probert collapses

Reports are floating about that he has died.

From the National Post:

WINDSOR, Ont. — Former NHL forward Bob Probert has been rushed to hospital after collapsing in a boat on Lake St. Clair Monday afternoon, AM800 CKLW is reporting.

Emergency crews performed CPR on the former Red Wings player on shore and transported the 45-year-old to Windsor Regional Hospital.

An OPP spokeswoman would not confirm the boating victim as Probert.

My condolences to his family. Way too young for anyone to pass.

Never got to see him live, but all the video I have seen and such point to an amazing enforcer, hard to knock down, and a good teammate.

Even with his demons, he seemed a good player.

49 goals in 461 games played for the organ-i-zation...........hardly the type of numbers for one to get a heritage night.

With that said, sad day for the Probert family, wish them the best.
Stu how old were you in 1989?
In 1988 I was 1. Doesn't mean he wasn't one of my favorite players in the mid-late 90's. My first real season comprehending/caring about the NHL was 1995... The same year Probert became a Blackhawk.

I was just wondering.

I always liked Probert and could care less if he should or shouldn't have had a "heritage night". BFD.
