I was just wondering.

I always liked Probert and could care less if he should or shouldn't have had a "heritage night". BFD.
For the record then, what other players did you like that would should make sure get Heritage nights next season?

Hopefully Probie got some satisfaction out of the Hawks winning the Cup.

Probert was a fighter and enforcer, and the very best of his era. He was a legend in his time and beloved by the fans. That is why he was deserving of a Heritage night. It's silly to talk about his goal scoring, that wasn't his role on this team. There's a reason why many fans cling to their old Probert jerseys. He was special and will be missed. Proof once again that the good die young.

LOVED Probert. Don't care that he played for the Wings either one of the few guys (Lidstrom is another). He was THE tough guy and heavy weight of my generation. And he also had a decent set of hands on him. Fan favorite no doubt and like RK said Probert was actually a very humble fellow and nice despite some of his personal problems.

I didn't think he was doing well though. Last few times I have seen him at charity events or on television there wasn't something right about him. He looked weak to be honest. That doesn't matter though right now.

Best to his friends and familly and I for one will never forget the man.

I don't have any memories of seeing probert live, since I was born in '89. But from the videos and the stories I've heard and seen, he was a legend.

Seems like one of the legit tough guys who could kick your ass and take a regular shift in the NHL.

3,300 PIM in 935 games in 17 seasons....that's nearly 200 per year. Wow...

Probie was one of the Hawks that participated in a street hockey game i played in when I was around 7. It took place in a Champs sports parking lot and its definately a memory I'll never forget. RIP Bob.

First time I went to a Hawks game at the United Center, Probert scored both goals in a 2-0 shutout of the New York Rangers (during the season Gretzky and Messier were reunited on the Rangers). I will always remember that and cherish it.

Also, this one never fails to amuse me:

Had the pleasure of meeting him a few times when I was a kid.

Really nice guy.

He's a big part of the memories I have of the Hawks growing up.

May he RIP.

My condolences go out to his family...left behind a wife & 4 kids.

Sad to hear this. Can't be sure of the cause but the kind of life he lead takes a toll. Live hard, that's what he did. Can only imagine that he had no regrets though.

RIP Probie.
49 goals in 461 games played for the organ-i-zation...........hardly the type of numbers for one to get a heritage night.

With that said, sad day for the Probert family, wish them the best.
I don't exactly think he was brought to Chicago to score goals......

Yes.

Along with a Probie Pucks night, which I attended and was really cool!
