So sad... The season is over and next season only looks worse. A bunch of average players sprinkled in with sophomores who have proven to be average at best. Next year, the Sox and KC will be in a huge battle for second/third place.

And KW gets a promotion for this mess... Hahahahhaha. So fucking funny.

Its the end of the season, where everything is closely looked at, and all of the praise that KW got for getting youk and Liriano now looks like shit.

he did well with those deals.

The team was projected to lose 95 games if you recall.

I dont think the GM or Robin lost this division though.

Put your feelings about KW aside and pretend he doesnt exist for a minute.

look at what happened this year:
konerko- ankle (played), hit in the face (out), bone issue in wrist (played), concussion (7 day dl), thumb injury now.
Lost Danks
Floyd hurt than not hurt than hurt
humber hurt
deaza ouchy
dunn with oblique issues in sept (out)
started the season with morel (hurt) also lowest OPS in baseball when he was there
young ass Bullpen

for them to get knocked out in the last week with all of that going on is somewhat remarkable.

Detroit has been pretty healthy all year with exception to austin jackson being hurt for a couple of hours, cabreras bad ankles for a couple of games, fister hurt recently and now scherzer which is irrelevant.

Healthy tigers team vs a crippled white sox team being only 2 games up. that is alarming for the tigers.

Now with the playoffs its true that anyone can win the WS no matter what, but these 2 teams are the exception to the rule...both are way too flawed to make a strong run.

I think it's mostly because the Tigers suck at defense and leak more runs than an overflowing Depends diaper.

None of those injuries was earth shattering.. the only one who lost significant time was Danks. And shouldn't teams be prepared for injury, thus having a strong bench? I also love how you included having a rookie bullpen. Whose fault is that?

Then you go on to say the Scherzer injury is no big deal.... Their best pitcher isn't a big deal? If he is healthy, I'd give the Tigers just as good of a shot at winning the World Series as any other team.

The bottomline, to me, is the Sox had a 3 game lead with 11 or so games remaining. It's not an epic choke job for the ages, but it is a choke job nonetheless. The players on the field didn't produce... You can't have a 7+ game losing streak to end the season. A choke job this year & only 2 playoffs in 12 years in the weakest division in baseball just doesn't do it for me.
