The Sox have been playing a team (Tampa Bay) that won't go away easily. The Sox have also had their chances. They just haven't risen to the challenge lately. When you lose 9 of your last 11 games, you don't deserve to make the playoffs. It's not over until it's over but it's not looking good for the Sox right now.

Losing 9 of the last 11 and having a 3 game lead and blowing it is not worthy of a pass to the post season. Ventura needed guys to step up and they looked gassed, which even though they are and have been through nagging injuries, you'd think the veterans would have risen to the occasion, and someone take the role of clubhouse leadership. Felt like there was no sense of urgency and a que sera, sera attitude instead of going for the jugular with a 3 game lead. Hopefully Robin will learn from this, being his first year and all and not allow/tolerate another melt down on the future teams in a pennant race again.
