Really bad sore throat. Need some help

So I have a really bad sore throat and it won't go away. I found some amoxicillin antibiotics from a few months ago that I never finished. So I'm taking those but it's not helping as of yet. Have only taken 2 so far though.

Been drinking hot tea and hot chocolate and tons of water to no avail. Any remedies you guys can suggest? Might be strep but idk. Really hoping these antibiotics kick in soon.

I've had sore throats before but this one is the worst I've ever had. It hurts like REALLY bad when I swallow. (Inb4 *** joke)

Any help is appreciated

I'm trying to stay away from whiskey. I drank some last night thinking it'd help and it made it worse

Chocolate is acidic so that's probably bad for it. Would avoid the alcohol too. That will probably irritate it. There are some OTC sprays you can buy that will numb the pain.

Cloves have analgesic properites, it'll do the same thing as the sprays.

In addition, clove oil is used in preparation of some toothpastes and Clovacaine solution, which is a local anesthetic used in oral ulceration and inflammation.

none of my friends have vicodin. fuuuuuck. and i already have an anti-biotic, doctor will just tell me to get one.

still got my tonsils, my moms a nurse and looked at it and said they dont look too bad, nothing white on em. She said they look swollen and stuff but not enough where im describing all the pain as this bad. This is one of the worst pains ive ever been in. Idk why it hurts this bad. I'm trying to get some Vicodin at the moment.

Gargling salt water almost always helps when I have a sore throat. Warm salt water

Chloroseptic and use halls throat losenges...drink warm black/green tea with honey. Gargle with warm salt water...even ice pops might help for temporary relief..

No dairy.

If its strep you will need medication most likely. If its just a sore throat from post nasal drip or something you are going to have to wait it out...

Just bought 4 vicodin. Time to feel awesome. Also there are white patches. Checked again
