Youk (and his career .389 OBP) batting second? :cum:

lets just make a lineup here

de aza
youkilis
dunn
konerko
rios
viciedo
aj
alexie
beckham

thats pretty damn good actually. not being a homer what so ever, any team that trots that out everyday is in good shape, and thats not even taking in the fact of defense.

:fap:

And O-dawg can give Beckham some rest every once and awhile. That's why getting Youk is IDEAL.

Assuming that no one regresses below their means, Beckham would probably be the only player with an OPS+ under 100.

That's incredible.

Gosh that would be great.

If the Sox get Youk, they are legit contenders to make some noise in the playoffs.

 because hudson/morel are better options? no. if you can get youk you do it. morel gets sent down and hudson becomes a utility player, and a good one.

I doubt he'll cost a lot, so it may be good. What would you guys offer, tho?

His contract will come into play. Makes a lot of money this year and I bet the Sox would want the Red Sox to pick up the majorty of the contract, he's a free agent after the year.

It's a tough situation... Maybe a trade of Youklins, 80-85% of contract for...?

What do u give for him?

depends on the timing of the trade. wherever he goes it will be soon. they need to move him. coming off injury and being a FA next year isnt going to make any team pay out the ass for him. i say he is moved in the next 2 weeks.

The question is how much do the other teams involved want to part with. As I've said repeatedly the bullpen arms that the Sox have would be pretty intriguing to the Red Sox, and is the chip that they have that could outbid some of the other better systems. It might not cost that much, but teams have done dumb things before when desperate, e.g. Carlos Beltran netting a near top 50 prospect last season.

And the Los Angeles Dodgers could fit that description with new ownership perhaps wanting to put an early stamp on the tenure as owners.

i can see that also the kemp issues as well.

im really wanting a front line starter though.

KW always surprises though with these out of the blue deals. he might go get someone that we never saw coming.
