depends on the timing of the trade. wherever he goes it will be soon. they need to move him. coming off injury and being a FA next year isnt going to make any team pay out the ass for him. i say he is moved in the next 2 weeks.

That's not an answer. You want him on the Sox. You say he's gone in two weeks so what do you give up?

i cant play GM since the market has been inconsistent at best with trades the last couple of years. i have no clue.

All i can tell you is im not wanting kenny to get fleeced for a rental. no molina in the deal, no addison reed.

None of us know what the Red Sox want or what Kenny is willing to give, so yeah we can say that we'd like him if the price is right.

Not sure what's wrong with that.

ummm yes I can. what are you talking about?

You keep saying I'm wrong to stick with what we have and that I'm crazy for not wanting Youkie yet offer no way to get him. That's playing both sides

No, you have to provide an offer for him otherwise you have to be happy with what you have. Release the trunk and choose a branch

 what?

im not playing both sides. I just dont know what the market is for any MLB player since its inconsistent. I can want whoever I want without having a clue of what we would give up. your post is silly.

Gammons was on MLB Network just now talking about Youkilis. He stated that Cherrington is disinclined to deal him since the Red Sox are worried their lineup doesn't have enough righties and Middlebrooks strike out to walks. He also stated that the Red Sox would want a number 3 starter in return for Youkilis. Take it for what it is worth.

Yeah, I already basically gave up on the Sox having any chance to land Youk.

I'm willing to settle for something else. I just don't know what else is out there. If there were some options that aren't asking for too much, I'd really like to see KW go after that.

pass. If thats what he wants for a guy that is going to be a free agent, who is on the wrong side of age and has a hefty salary il pass. If they want floyd and someone fine. but a guy like Danks....no chance.

because the Sox have been soooooo successful picking up large contracts.
Manny
Rios
Peavy (2009-2011 anyway)
now Youk? I'll pass
Not to mention Dunn might still now pan out, he is having a good year but he still has two more years to prove himself worthy of the cash we shelled out for him
We have not been lucky with big contracts, and we aren't as big of a market like Texas, LA, NY, or Boston to just let it brush aside because we are swimming in cash

I think what you just said about the Dunn thing isn't true. I think that he'll be fine. Yeah, he still has to prove it.

But the difference between last year and this year should show that last year was a fluke.

I agree, last year wasn't a fluke though he was just lazy, look what he has shown he can do when he decides to pick up a bat, but so many things can go wrong, look at the Ryan Madson deal 1 yr $9.5M, gets hurt in spring training, Dunn is durable and most likely wont get hurt, I'm just saying as of right now... it's a bad contract

The White Sox have a barren farm system due to trades like this. Even if they want to trade for him what do they have to offer the Red Sox that would be above what all the other teams are offering?

Well it seems like the Red Sox want major league talent in a deal, and that was why Gammons was saying that a Youk deal is unlikely to any team at this point.
