Peyton Manning would do even better if he were in a larger market. Market isn't everything, and elite players will always get endorsements, but it's silly to think market makes no difference whatsoever.

Peyton Manning joins Tiger, LeBron, Shaq in 15-15 club | ProFootballTalk.com

Sprint.....
Mastercard.....
Gatorade.....
Reebok.....
Every ESPN commercial since 2005......

Made $15 million in endorsements. Yeah, he'd probably get even bigger endorsements if he were in NY or LA. Get real.......

Who told you that ALL of them had Chicago as a backup plan? Wade had Chicago as a backup plan IF Lebron and Bosh were in Cleveland. I don't even know if I believe that as it seems this was planned year in advance.

But I cannot understand the obvious hypocrisy you show. Many of us stated that in the long run, the Bulls were right to let Gordon go and should try to trade everybody that they can to get Lebron, you objected. Now you are upset that the Bulls didn't unload enough "dead weight"? Interesting...and highly subjective.

Both Bron and Wade had us as backup plan and its hard to imagine that Bosh didn't have it in his head.

BG didn't have to be let go to get a fa. Only him or Kirk had to go to have max cap space and I was simply replying to the hypothetical put in front of me which was what had kept us from having a chance at all three. Which was Deng.

Why wouldn't he? Stars in markets typically dominant that market, are you telling me it wouldn't be benefical to dominate a market twice as big? Certainly helps Rose, he is top 5 in jersey sales and he isn't a top 5 player.

Again, you have no solid proof that Lebron had Chicago as a backup plan.

Again you have no proof he didn't. He was considering us before Miami pulled off space for all three. We would have been a contender.

He was considering several teams, if you listen to rumors, he was put off by the fact that Rose never called him, welcomed him to the team. According to rumor, he asked Reinsdorf about certain amenities for his friends and Reinsdorf said no. According to rumor, this move was in the making years ago. You pick out the rumor you like and run with it. That doesn't make it gospel. I saw dozens of different rumors about Lebron on twitter. I personally thought he would go back to Cleveland. I

Now you think the league will be boring, but the Heat are the most popular basketball team on the planet right now. Everybody is anticipating the start of the NBA season and want to see what will happen.

I root against dynasties, unless its a team that I personally like. But polarization is not boring.

Dude the point is that Peyton is able to dominate endorsements in the NFL, and he doesn't play in a top market.

Also, and correct me if I am wrong, but jersey sales go to the league. I'm not so sure Rose sees any of that money. So the leagues like when they have stars in big markets, but that does not mean there isn't money to be made just because you are in a smaller market.

It certainly doesn't. But it certainly stands that athletes in big markets do better. Peyton rules endorsements but he would make even more here or in NY. My original point was that they could easily make up the 1-2 mill they lost in state taxes here vs Miami.
