Rather watch Fales than Barkley. Or Cutler for that matter.
They went with 2 QBs on the active and Shaw looked good. Fales probably chose to sign with Trestman who always liked him. Trestman's gone, Ravens don't care enough about Fales to bring him up again to ptotect him and the Bears are making their best move available.I always liked Fales as a prospect, and I never thought the current staff gave him enough of a chance.
Last year, he missed the entire training camp with an illness, then played extremely well in the preseason, then got placed on the practice squad, then got moved up to the active roster very late in the season when the Patriots tried to sign him, then never actually got any playing time in a regular season game even though the season was basically over.
This year, the staff seemed determined to relegate him to 3rd or 4th string and barely even played him in the preseason.
It would be great if he earns the opportunity to be a stop gap next year. This year's QB class is so weak, it would be great if he could hold us over until next year's draft.
I say there's a 70% chance that Fales is starting next week.
