I also noticed a picture of me laying on that dresser there in top douchebag form when I was 19.

Thought that was a dirty ashtray at first, then I got my specs and realized no, it was you in all your douchy glory...

Hey TSD, here is something we used to do for pushups on the boat, to vary the routine: take a deck of cards, shuffle them up real good, then start flipping the cards over one at a time. You do the number of pushups that show on the flipped card card, Jacks count as 11, Queeens 12, and Kings are 13. If you flip an Ace, you double up the next card. The only "break" you get is the time it takes you to flip a card. Can get your shoulders burning but good.

Funny thing I recall about getting smoked back in the day, is they rarely said "drop and give me 20". They would drop you, have you get halfway through a pushup and leave you that way until your arms gave out.

Man I dont miss that shit...."Front leaning rest position...MOVE!" "Halfway down, STOP." Then those motherfuckers would go for a cup of coffee or some shit.

Yeah, in bootcamp the fucking CC's called it getting "MASH"ed (Make A Sailor Hurt)....calestenics till some puked. There was the puch-ups, then the 4 point sit-ups up 1/4 way, pause, up to 1/2, pause, 3/4, pause, full up...then doing it in reverse.

About 2 weeks ago, my buddy and I started this weightlifting routine called the "Showtime". We were only able to get through 1 week of the routine (it's 4 weeks total) because the 2nd week he had the flu and the 3rd week I was sick. We start back up tomorrow and we are going to redo the first week. The workout is made for people who have 4 weeks to get ready for either a TV/Movie/. It's essentially 3 muscle groups a day and each muscle you superset two exercises. Now one of those exercises will be for Bulk (6-8 reps of heavy weight) with the other exercise being for definition (12-15 lower weight). Then after 4 exercises per muscle, you do 7 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training (30 seconds dead sprint, as if your getting chased by a bear; followed by 1 minute of a slower rate, for me it was walking). So you work 3 muscles and 21 minutes of HIIT per workout. The first week was tough, but i had never felt so good after a work out and even being overweight as I am, I could see some definition. You do each days exercise twice a week and rest on the 7th day. Each week supposedly gets tougher and more strenuous. This time, I'm going to keep a clean diet as last time I ate whatever I wanted and i could tell it was hurting my workout. If you want the routine I can give ya the link as it's online.

Just started Crossfit yesterday. Kicked my ass. Makes your whole body feel like jelly for awhile afterwards. It really drains your body of glucose since you do intense, whole body workouts for short duratiton

I've been doing it for a year. Stick with it. It becomes a great community of friendships, and a killer workout. Don't get caught up with your scale. measure your success by your clothes fit. Are you starting the Paleo diet as well?

No, not a big fan of the paleo diet. I understand the principles and a lot of it makes sense, but I don't believe some of the so called science behind. I'm mostly vegetarian now anyways. I eat meat only occasionally.

More importantly is refined and processed sugars. Sugars from fruits, vegetables, honey, etc are entirely different.

As most people know by now, High Fructose Corn Syrup is the worst of the worst.

I have to start going back to the gym. I have slacked off big time and have gained 10lbs i need to loose again and need to put some muscle mass back on. I always feel great when I get in a good gym and diet routine but am one of those who can fall back into bad habits. Last year was the best shape I was ever in and I hadn't felt that good in years. Yup time to get back to it. I need that energy back.

I am a lucky one because I genuinely enjoy salads and vegetables and fruits and am not a big fan of a lot of fatty meats etc. But I have a sweet tooth for chocolate which kills me esp this time of year.

So, here is my updated weigh in, since June, I have dropped from 215lbs (that is my heaviest point ever and when I decided to make the change for real), to....... DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!........................to 171lbs. I just did my daily weigh-in, post dinner (2 bowls of spaghetti). Yes folks that is 40+ lbs lost since June. I am happy with the way I look for the first time in many years....kind of wish I had been like this in my chocker whites (Chief's Dress white uniform) one time at least.

No special diet, just limiting my intake, not snacking late at night, or taking third anf fourth helpings of meals. Also there was no special crazy ass workouts, I really get my workouts at work, working like I do keeps me moving, and has helped tone me up. It's either all that or I got some kind of medical issue that has caused this weight loss.

I think most of it was just realizing I had turned into a fucking fatass and needed to do something about it, before I keeled over from a damed heartattack and left Christian without a Daddy. And I couldnt have picked a better time to do it, going to be back on th emarket as a single man soon.

Way to go Bubblehead!

That's pretty impressive in a relatively short amount of time.

I'm doing the crossfit to help get in better shape for our backpacking trip in Alaska. I don't want to be the one lagging our group behind. Also, I just need to get in better shape in general. I'm at 215 now and I'm hoping to be around 190.

Well since my last post over a year ago, my weight has stayed the same and I really haven't done shit.

I have though a different outlook on life though since then. I've decided that 2012 is going to be the year of "Doing" and "No Excuses". I've gotten the band I'm in 3 shows in the city within the past few days, I've signed up to coach hockey again, I've been given more hours at work and basically will run my own store. Instead of living in what I could have, I'm actually going to try and go and get what I want.

In a holding pattern between 215-220 lbs. Holidays did not help. Just got back from skiing and felt much better this year being @ 30 lbs lighter. Didn't kick my ass so bad going from sea level to 11,000 feet for a few days.
