Have never a big Van Halen fan. But, certainly an incredible guitarist, and absolutely too young to pass.

I feel ya but that og 1978 self titled is actually a pretty cohesive thang. Fwiw tho I listened to it end to end for the first time tonight lol.

Their early stuff was definitely much more satisfying and cohesive. Then it turned into the David Lee Roth show, but the guitar work was still great, and then the Sammy Hagar pop years... Not even sure if I've ever heard anything from the Cherone era (dude from Extreme [not the good one...Nuno is a fucking god]).

I'm a huge VH fan and I always skip that song on that album. So overplayed. Every single one of the non hit songs on 1984 are fucking AWESOME! Though Panama and Hot For Teacher are great too.

I had such a crush on her back in the day.
hot as hell.

I don't usually fall for the "cute all-American, girl next door" types. Her, I did.

Wholesome hot!

Eddy had an all to short, but great, epic, all star life.

I was never a massive van halen fan, but back in my guitar playing days I respected the shit out of eddie. (was more of a metalhead)

On the guitar god totem pole, noting the leaps forward, Hendricks gave birth to eddie who then gave birth to the fork leading to Vai and Satriani.

Satriani spawned from Eddies structured side and Vai spawned from Eddies irreverent side.

In his time, he was the man. Nobody in the early 80's held a candle to him.

What nimrod doesn't mention is that both Eddie and Page played both rhythm and lead guitar, without another guitarist. And they were both quite good at rhythm guitar.

Big difference, especially live.

Taylor played rythym on a few Stones songs when Keith wasn't there. On a couple of songs he played lead, acoustic, rhythm and bass on the same song.....duh

Val Halen couldnt concieve or play this solo in a thousand years. 3:25

Pretty easy to do in the studio.

Gosh you are a complete idiot.

And Richards liked Page. A lot. He considered him the most overworked guitarist in rock because he played lead and rhythm live, and tried to convince him to get a rhythm player.

Not true.

Here Richards calls them "hollow"

In another interview, he shrugged and said they were heavy handed as a group

Calls "them" hollow.

He hated Bonham and Plant. He liked Page. A lot.

And most pro musicians are competitive dicks, and slag their contemporaries, particularly Richards. But he liked Page.

You are a fool
