Baseball Prospectus | Inside The Park: Why Can't We Just Leave Rizzo Alone?
Nice article about the hoopla surrounding Rizzogasm.

Kevin Goldstein was on 670. The vast majority of the time was spent talking about the White Sox, but he did drop the same projection that I've seen from the vast majority of "experts". That he sees him as an above average hitting 1B that might be an all-star a few time, .280 hitter that puts up 25-30 bombs.
The only other fun part of the interview was to listen to Matt Speigel completely miss Goldstein's point about Jose Quintana.
Did Speigel say that Quintana was not the answer?

Yeah that would be in the Ryan Klesko/Fred McGriff mold that some have used. If he can do that consistently he would be a fringe candidate like McGriff. He isn't a lock to do that, but so far the results have been encouraging. That's pretty much what I expect from him. Thing is, if he puts up those kinds of numbers for 6-8 years in Wrigley, he'll be hailed as a future HoFer.
quintana is pretty descent. just another arm from our 30th ranked farm system that the yankees didnt want and is 23 years old.
Let him get through the lineups a few more times.. They'll adjust.. then he will have to adjust back..
If he does that and continues.. Good starter.
